Be interesting to see how Thibs handles his substitution.

Singular.

Maxey carried his team to the win in Game 5. He is their true clutch player.

I came away from this series with real respect for him even if that franchise is otherwise now rubbish to me

But what about Game 6? Seemed like he was still reliving his great game 5. Maybe it'll come with age and he's still somewhat a young guy. But I don't see him being able to consistently do what Brunson does (not in terms of putting up 40 points regularly in the playoffs) but being that lead guy. At least not on a top tier team. But again that could change. There's talent for sure, but he's kinda here and there sometimes top sometimes not, sometimes takes plays off, etc. True 1A alphas on top teams don't do that.

Yeah, I gathered from some of their better posters on the GB that he's pretty streaky. That's why I specified closer because I think that, like Ewing, you rely on a guy like Embiid to carry you through the game but when you need that last bit of oomph down the stretch you need a Maxey. He's not as good as Embiid and probably won't be but they can strategically use him, Embiid, and maybe another player they get this summer in a way that better bolsters their talent.

mpharris36 wrote:the pace and shooting the pacers play at will surely be something we have to adjust to. I don't think we can be playing our guys 48 minutes vs them. Sixers its a different story because outside of Maxey the sixers play at a pretty slow pace to not overexert embiid.

There will be game(s) that the pacers are hot from 3. But we should dominate the glass again, I don't think sixers have anyone specifically that can guard Brunson...they will try guys like Nesmith, Nemhard, and Sheppard on him but those are a lot of inexperienced defenders Brunson should be able to take advantage of.

I would honestly make Haliurton a scorer all series and just keep guys like Turner, Nesmith, Siakam from going off. If Haliburton wants to go for 40 like Maxey so be it...that isn't his mentality.

I could see more lopsided games in this series. They'll get going one game and we shut them down another. I think we need to go at least 8 :D

It's been years, but I remember that dudes out there used to smoke angel dust and wet (weed dipped in embalming fluid). I dunno if that's how they still get down but this is facts lmao

We had a saying, never take a blunt from a Philly/South Jersey smoker. Ever.

"i used to wild off embalming fluid."

To be fair, the Wu (especially Ghost) mentioned smoking dust in their songs quite consistently throughout the decades. Far more than any other rappers I can think of.

Here's a "gem" from a Wu Affiliate; very dark song/beat.

oh yeah. not saying dust is exclusive to philly.

Spoiler:
it's exclusive to philly and DC.

dust was popular in the 80s and 90s. it's cultural in philly.
RIP magnumt

welcome home, thibs.

I expect this.

Some cats here will be in Black Friday mode and standing on their office ledges if Indy has a big scoring game.

But that should not define the series. We have the tools to lock down and make them sweat most games in this series.

Knicks need to win this Pacers series for things to feel meaningful.

This is fair

Nah...we should celebrate. There's more to do, but this was a good win.

This Philly team was pretty good. This is a better team than the Cavs team we beat last year. Cavs and Bucks basically lost games to avoid them. We were missing key personnel. They played dirty, leveraged the refs, etc. Lots of national media, aside from Perkins, down on the Knicks. Knicks fans showed up in their arena and made their ownership buy tickets. Gritty wins all around...tough offensive rebounding. One potential devastating loss, followed by redemption. 40+ minute games for our starters. Close games all around.

Love this!

It’s what we call a rotation in a fixed position — no swivel joint

It was essentially two #2 seeds playing. We had a dry run of the ECF in the first round

Underrated is that Knicks fans need the weekend to recover too. We'll have light posting and a few shootarounds through Sunday. Then be ready to hit the GT midday Monday.

And survived without significant injury except our 8th man. Bam took out Porzingis. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Holiday or Brown get dinged up vs Cleveland.
