They just went into Denver and SMACKED the reigning champs TWICE. With our injuries and lack of depth, we might steal a game or 2 and that’s it.

Good context for Marbs to be weird without judgment

One of us…I was legit doing the same thing in my living room

I am LOVING the Marbury redemption tour. He deserved better during his time here. Larry Clown set us back almost as bad as Phil Jackass did. Steph deserves his spot amongst the Knick legends.

Now Dolan and Oakley need to make good. We need the Oakman to come back.

I think he was talking a healthy knicks squad against a healthy Wolves squad, right?

Without Randle we obviously can't win a series against them. I think even the most optimistic knick fan is going to concede that.

I’m hoping the Last 2 Min Report gives me a reason to feel less guilty about the game. It’s all about the L2MR. More exciting than watching the last 2 minutes.

you shouldnt feel guilty about ANYTHING. Most of the nba fans hate us. This is our time KG- Enjoy it!

Game 2 thread should begin with the OP from the last Pacers at NYK season game thread. The one that contrasted obese midwesterners with sophisticated NY fashion models. It was a classic

I second that. I view it like this:

The Nesmith play was incredibly tough to see really---before the replay I was 100% certain it was a kicked ball. I was actually really surprised it only hit his hand. Looked incredibly odd.

Then you have the Brunson Nembhard out of bounds play which was also incredibly hard to see and without the replay I thought it was Indy ball. Now keep in mind that Thibs had to sacrifice a timeout to get the call right. That was a wrong call by the refs which became absolutely instrumental for the following events: When Brunson got the inbound play a couple possessions later he was immediately pressured by two Pacers where he jumped into the air but the ball hit him off Haliburton. Keep in mind that with an additional timeout he would have certainly called a timeout here and the Knicks would have retained possession up 1 point with 18 seconds to go and 15 on the shot clock. But since the Knicks had only 1 timeout remaining he tried to save the possession but lost it. The Turner screen foul call was soft but not like 100% bogus.

Overall I would agree that the Knicks got the better end of a couple close calls but in terms of what I have seen in the NBA over decades, this one was far from scandalous. The Nesmith call was flat out wrong and the Turner call was soft given the circumstance. The Knicks had to sacrifice an important timeout to get another wrong call right....

Props to TJ McConnell.

Outplayed Halliburton. Couldn't get the ball in bounds on that dude.
We need that from Deuce next game.

Did anybody know that you can't challenge kick ball calls? I had no idea until the post game press conference with Carlisle. During the game, I saw them look to the back of the bench to check to see if they should challenge and when they didn't, I just assumed it was an actual kick ball. The replay on the broadcast looked like it wasn't a kick and it really did hit his hand but the angle was from the wrong side to truly see.

It's sugar. Buttloads and Buttloads of sugar.

I watched this one before the game as well----it was one of the sloppiest, worst prepared pregame previews in a while:

1. At 1:44 Pierce says he loves Mathurin off the bench.....I was like WTF? So they have a show and he shows up not knowing that Mathurin who was admittedly very good for the Pacers is out for season? I mean how do you miss that?

2. Both of them referred back to the 125-111 Pacer win in the garden where the Knicks were without Mitch, Hartenstein and OG (and obviously Randle). They started Taj Gibson.....I mean why would you take that as a reference?

3. He cites the Pacers defense and grit on Brunson---like...what? Brunson put up 36points per game on 49% shooting and got to the FT line at will in the regular season shot 30 FTs in 3 games......like WTF is Pierce talking about? The Pacers have no answers 1 on 1 for Brunson. Brunson's 43 points and 14 FTs were just business as usual for him against the Pacers, like another day in the office and he really got to all the spots he wanted to. The Sixers defense on Brunson was much tougher....I have rarely seen such a bad take by a commentator or ex-player pregame. It was like they were not familiar with the personnel of both teams at all and didn't even bother to look at regular season box scores for reference.

Extremely sloppy and unprepared.
