Rumor: Sergio a Knick?

Post#1 » by Crimson King » Mon Jun 8, 2009 11:58 am

Not sure if the source is credible.

The article says Sergio Rodriguez will be a Knick on draft day, the Knicks and the Blazers
reached an agreement 20 days ago, and that Mike D'Antoni has been the most interested in acquiring Sergio. The pieces involved aren't specified.

Surprising part: Sergio's agent reached an agreement to a 3 years extension with the Knicks.

Whoa thats crazy if its true, i wouldn't be surprised though. It seems pretty credible. I don't think Yahoo in Spain would lie. I'm sure their are held to the same standards as every other news media outlet.

I think if HighRyzer gets into an accident and loses half his brain he will still be the smartest poster on this board. HighRyzer83 is the man!

I very much doubt we would trade down 16 spots and lose out on a chance at Curry for Sergio... the guy has really no trade value...

Well, it's a blog on Yahoo Spain, so who knows. Reading some spanish forum, it looks like the author has some credibility.

I've translated the important points.

The rest of the article talks about how unhappy is Sergio in Portland, that he is working on this defense and his shooting in Spain, and not much more.

We could copy and paste to Babelfish but that thing is so damn useless. I'll ask my father to after I leave work if we still need to.

I can confirm that the OP translated it correctly. The odd part is about the agent agreeing to 3 years. The other odd part is why wouldnt they be able to announce it? It doesnt make sense unless pieces that are not available to be traded were involved (sign and trade Nate?)

Thanks. I just finished reading the "translation". A lot of references to canaries and a really odd epic translation of the "garden of roses". And why not, "Chacho" in NY could be interesting.

As long as Walsh doesn't include the 8th overall pick, I'm fine.

Problem with that is that wouldn't meet the "20 days" criteria. 20 days from the article puts them right on draft day. Nate can't be signed (and traded) until July 1.
