LOL..

A friend of mine is dating a girl casually, who also sees English from time to time. She said this is just what he does, and she wonders if he'll have money to retire on the way he spends.. Then this..

What's the point of rookie symposiums if this is going to be how people spend their money. I wouldn't say anything if I didn't know of his lifestyle, but boy, life is good as a first round draft pick.

That's a lot better though than to waste your money on hookers, partying, expansive cars or jewelry. He makes an effort to bond with his teammates, it's a nice gesture especially before the season. Sure, the amount he spends is crazy and he might have to be a little smarter about it but it's still not wrong to do it in my opinion.

If you read the link, it's a team tradition. Every year, the Chargers' first-round rookie has to buy the whole team dinner. They said Merriman's tab went up to $32,000 so he got off easy. Failed QB Ryan Leaf refused to when he got drafted and Junior Seau stole his credit card and made it happen anyways.

Wow, 14 grand for dinner. I wish they showed the entire receipt... No big deal though since it's tradition, hopefully it's just a one time thing and not a regularly scheduled event for the rooks.

I bet all the linemen ate real good that night though.

You didn't hear? Hakeem Nicks had to do the same thing with the Giants...

Well, today we know why Ryan Leaf was a bit cautious with his money...

Merriman went 12th after Dallas took Ware. It was the pick the Chargers got from the Giants.

Wow.

Imagine if the Knicks had that tradition last year with Jerome and Eddy on the squad? :o

He went 12th, the Pick right after DeMarcus Ware.....

I can use 14 G;'s right now and he went and spent it on food.
