I remember arguing with people in the rookie thread that were saying he wasn't good. He was a sub 40% shooter for the first half of his rookie season.

This year, this pick, this Org., it feels right for a "kick the can down the road" trade.
This year's 1st for a 2026 1st, top 10 protected.

Sure, if there is no player they like at 18 or as they say, the draft has "flattened," which this year happens at #1 . But if there is a player you highly value, you grab him and figure out the rest later.

I feel like ORL suddenly will have a lot of space on their roster when they let a handful walk (I hope). At the same time, there are some players around #18 that look pretty ready...due to age or just apparent maturity. As we get better, rotation should tighten anyway...hopefully, AB and Jett are ready to contribute but end of the bench next season could be more like G-league this past season.

Shannon, Devin Carter, Da Silva, Filipowski, Knecht would all be older than some of our "vets"

Baylor Scheierman is intriguing to me. He has a really nice stroke and shows some serious range on his 3 ball. He’s 6’7” and 23 years old. He looks like the perfect guy coming in off the bench being a three-point threat.

Scheierman’s highest video. If we could move back into the 1st round after our 18th pick he might be a nice target.

He looks every part of a Celtics or Heat draft pick and it’s not because he’s white lol.

3rd in lane agility
1st in 3 quarter sprint
2nd in standing vertical
T-1st in max vertical

He's gonna end up going like 8th or something.

He should go that high, but there's always a chance he wont, given he's 22. Not sure hed fall all the way to us tho, which is a shame because hes a stud.

What if he’s still there when Portland is on the clock at 14? Any realistic trade we’d be able to offer for Anfernee Simons + draft rights of Devin Carter? AB + Wendell + 18th pick+ anything else they want outside Paolo, Franz, Suggs?

I think we will choose between players like Holmes, Carrington, Furphy, Tyson, Shannon.
I think Carter, da Silva, Filipowski, McCain will be gone.
One player i see which we can promise a spot to stay in the draft is Alex Karaban. He has size, iq and shooting stroke.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Early list:

First round
McCain - steal if he drops
da Silva - most solid pick for need/bpa (should bet this is the pick)
Furphy - best upside pick
Klintman - ultimate Weltman long boi
Carter - my favorite player in this draft

Second round:
Scheierman- young Joe Ingles meets need and bpa
Comche - Isaac replacement
Ighodaro - another Weltman pick
Cash considerations - Weltmans favorite pick in the draft

Scheierman has a really nice stroke and NBA range already, he has played well at the combine also

Thats just my guess. Thats what i wrote about him in january 2023

I agree that we will propably target Jett. He is exactly type of offensive dynamo we need and it happens that he is from Michigan lol.

My favourite at 11 was Podziemski by a mile, also not a bad take.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Only problem with Comche is where is he getting minutes?

Paolo, Isaac, Carter, Mo, and possibly Goga if he isnt walking.

Considering how raw he is as a prospect, he should play a year in the G League.

Why would Orlando draft guys that can’t play for two seasons?

Didn’t they just make the playoffs? They aren’t rebuilding anymore.
