understandable. Hopefully we can get a guy as good as him without the injury history.

How about Kevin Durant if the suns blow it up? Sure would solve our scoring issues

As the team's new SG? Or as a bench backup to F-Wagner?

The Suns have no choice but to run it back.

They owe...

2025 1st unprotected
2026 1st in a swap
2027 1st unprotected
2028 1st in a swap
2029 1st unprotected
2030 1st in a swap

There's no blowing it up happening in Phoenix. They'll probably fire Frank Vogel and see if a different voice can yield better results.

What's the most you would pay for Malik Monk in free agency?

The most he can get from Sacramento is 4/78.

We need a point guard, because Suggs isn't it but I still like him as a secondary playmaker....we need a center as well because Wendell doesn't cut it anymore and this whole "great contract" talking point is just an excuse to justify accepting mediocrity from Wendell.... If we're getting a guard I would rather it be an established one not a rookie... I wouldn't mind having a center in the background developing on a rookie deal... There are a lot of ways our off-season can go but I know one route it shouldn't go, the "run it back" route

With Paolo and Franz as our highest usage players with continued developmental skills as facilitators... I am fine giving Black a fair shake next season. If a player like dejounte can be picked up ... I would legit have to consider it ... But I honestly think black is what the FO want at PG. He is already a particularly great defender his rookie season. He's been battle tested and showed both his defensive acumen and signs of a possible 3 point shooting abilities. Annnnnd for me.... That was enough for me to gain some confidence in his future. People worry about his other traits at PG
... But to be honest with you... I am taking that all with a grain of salt. That back court position has been relegated to low usage.... Fultz , Harris, and black have all been low usage players all season long.... Annnnnd I believe it was by design. Black in particular seems to have been given a role.... A lane to stick in... So I'm not going to assume we've even seen much of him. IF that is the case and they believe in him... I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make any major deals.

Personally.... If Hartenstein is possible.... I would happily add him to this team. And that includes holding onto Wendell unless he can bolster the team somewhere else. We could have one of the deepest teams next year... And one of the strongest defenses in a while... Trusting on our growth on offense.

Black/Cole
Suggs/Howard
Wagner/Isaac/Houston/Ingles
Paolo/Wendell
Hartenstein/Mo

Annnnnd yeah.... I wouldn't be surprised if Harris or Fultz are also retained.

They have this year’s 1st round pick? Edey incoming to save the day?

92 M on front loaded contract is the max I would go

26,24,22,20

Keep in mind contracts always come with bonuses so it d be less than that at end of the day

In 2027 with 39 y Durant and 34y old Beal they are going to be f*cked anyway, so its a bit of lose lose for them. Maybe they trade Durant now, try to recover some value at least and get younger? Although we are one team that dont need him, unless we use him as a 6th man, lol.

90m in front loaded 4 y contract (24-23-22-21 or something like that) where the 4th year is a team option - so even if he sucks he can be traded in year 3 as a sallary filler without problem and in 3 years he'll get the money he can have with Sac in 4 years, so that is his motivation for moving.
But on the other hand, paying so much money for a player that so far is proven only as a 6th man is a bit wrong for me.

A capable ball handler able to run pick and roll’s with Paolo and Franz, the 3pt % isn’t great but he will take them and provides rebounding and assists. Coming out with two 6’10” forwards in Paolo & Franz and a 6’8” pg/sg AND all three would be 21-22 years old think about that core growing together for 4-5 seasons hitting their prime together and that chemistry. If it only took JI and maybe some draft picks would not be worth it? Nothing against JI he’s great BUT the injuries in the past would be the only concern for the future.
Franz would have to guard the SG in that scenario. Giddey guards forwards, I don't believe he moves his feet fast enough to guard guards.

Minnesota is a positive example. Everyone laughed about the Gobert trade but he was Utah's best player & the floor raiser. They added a guy to improve their weakness (Defense) & they done it without losing McDaniels, instead send a extra pick who probably will never be as good as McDaniels is unlike the Cavs losing picks & good young players to double down on small guards.
Not a perfect trade (til they win a chip) because even without McDaniels they overpaid a bit pickwise, because Goberts value was at a alltime low leaquewide, but they are a real contender now instead of a laughing stock like the last 15 years.

My question for them; is it worth moving up the championship window when Edwards is still so young and very unlikely to lead them to a chip?

What's the point of contending if you aren't really a viable contender? By the time Edwards is ready to lead them Gobert is going to be out of his prime.

Edwards is maybe the best player of the playoffs so far & Minnesota looks like a real contender. They are ready now. Why should they wait? If they wait KAT gets old & they need 1 or 2 other great players to surround Edwards. All that trying to lure those guys to cold Minnesota.
OKC vs. Minnesota will be interesting. I bet Edwards doesn't crack 20 ppg while he's in the Dorture chamber.

We are positioned for major shake up. True or false?

Lotto talent on their rookie scale contracts:
Suggs, Franz, Paolo, AB, Jett

Other rookie scale contracts:
Caleb

Role players on multi-year deals:
Cole, WCJ

Role players on one year deals:
JI, Moritz, Ingles

Expiring:
Fultz, Harris, Okeke, Goga

Does it count as a major shakeup if we let our expiring players walk? It’s not for me.

2 rotational players would be leaving but both played half a season. I’m not going to be upset if Harris comes back for less money.

Does Black and Jett joining the rotation count as a major shake up? I’m really ok losing 5 games if it means we are adding Black and Jett to the rotation. It’s a good time to kick the tires and see what we have.

100% true.

The Magic are absolutely in a position to shake things up in a major way if they are so inclined. But Weltman probably isn't willing to do a major shake up.

I'd have no problem replacing like 9 or 10 of the existing players on the roster, but I can't imagine the front office is actually willing to replace more than 2-3 of the existing guys.

I think "major shakeup" territory requires 5 new rotation players.

Cruise control is replacing
- Fultz with Black,
- Okeke with Jett,
- and using pre-extension cap space to replace Harris

It gets spicy if we decide to trade Cole and WCJ and upgrade Ingles.

It's Denver/Minnesota in the next round.

Not sure Edwards will have the opportunity to even go into the Dorture Chamber.

Why would you do a major shake up? The guys playing for each other has been key to success and development.

Why risk impacting our momentum? We haven’t hit a wall yet.
