Going into this season, all we hoped for is the Magic being in the play ins. Going into these play offs all we hoped for was for these guys not to get swept. Lets remember that. We are in a good place regardless of what happens next game. Paolo, Franz and Suggs have displayed a lot of fight and talent. Another year of development and some roster upgrades, and we should be looking forward to deep play off runs.

Just because a player is of a certain age doesn't mean he'll figure it out. I know the league sells tickets with the whole 'youngest to do [this]' and 'oh he's only 22', but a lot of times you either got it or you don't.

He's got it. He won a World Championship last summer with an inferior roster. I'm pretty sure he'll figure it out.

Even though I don't like that we are down 2-3, I am really curious to see how this team respond in an elimination game. I might say a lot of dumb takes during the game thread but it's been a joy watching these guys grow up in the playoffs. This doesn't even compare to the playoff teams with Vuc, Fournier, and Gordon.

I think if you polled the posters on here, majority would be overwhelming pleased with how this season went down, even if we lose Game 6.

We completely overperformed.

Still though, I'd be thrilled if they could win the next 2 and play the Porzingis-less Celtics in the 2nd round

Main issue is defense. If you aren’t hitting shots at least play exceptional defense on Garland or Mitchell. If not, you can’t be on the floor.

Fultz can bully Garland 1 on 1 and vulture a few buckets that way. Even I, a known hater, can admit that Markelle has a knack of knowing when to go into his iso bullyball get a cheap layup schtick when nothing is going on offensively.

But the biggest problem with Fultz is that if he's starting, then has to defend one of Garland or Mitchell and he's just such a tremendously lazy pick and roll defender that it's gonna hurt the entire the operation.

It reminds me of when GSW and Bucks were making their come ups in the playoffs with Curry and Giannis respectively. It’s never rainbows and sunshine th first go around, it’s a process.

We lost as a team. Everybody made bad plays here and there. Different people choose to harp on particular ones. Let em hate.

Can't start Fultz, not an option as far as I'm concerned..... His defense has fallen off a cliff

To the Fultz Falt thread, a falt is a unit of measurement of wheat. So ....

Of course it is also perhaps an acronym, as it was in all caps. So is it:
FALT Field Artillery Logic Tester
FALT Fixed Aqueous Layer Thickness
FALT Final Altitude

That's what doctor-internet states are the options here.

I'll go with "Fixed Aqueous Layer Thickness". It sounds nice. And it also seems to be a unit of measurement.

Man I wasn't able to watch the game in full and I missed the last 3 minutes or so until now....on our last possession why didn't we take our time more? The shot clock was off and Franz attempted that layup with like 7 seconds on the clock...am I tripping?

Yeah you're right that bothered me more than the fact he got blocked live, too.

I would've preferred to shoot a 3 for the win at the buzzer, even though we're not exactly a bunch of marksmen

They alredy exceeded my expectations so I salute them.
Still makes you wonder what if Welt actually did add a competent guard ad the trade deadline...so we could actually get ANYTHING from our guards (not named Suggs) and not statlines like 0/11 1/9 etc....

You mean that third go to scorer that we desperately need? Yeah, that would’ve been nice…

They’ve exceeded my expectations as well, but a series and a game like this tend to highlight issues for teams. Lots of people in here recognized what was lacking, so for me it’s frustrating to watch those obvious issues impact a close game like this. There may have not been an opportunity to make those changes though so I understand that as well.

Not to be the silver lining guy but we did almost pull out a game 5 road win against an experienced PO team…. I’m excited for the future of this team and seeing what they do to improve the roster in the offseason.
