I just don’t understand wanting to trade assets for a rookie 19 year old. I thought we are trying to accelerate this puppy? A 19 year old traded for is not that.

Like if Black was in this draft would he go top 3? It’s certainly a possibility. The team didn’t think Jett Howard was able to play NBA quality defense and I think Sheppard would be worse.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

If it's just cap space it's really interesting. He played a lot of SG.

Then what happens next season when he is Free agent? Offering him a big contract would really hurt us

However maybe there is a deal where we could do a 3 teams trade in which he would go to Atlanta, Murray would come here, and assets and cap space to NO
Draft Carter
Sign monk
Trade Cole for a forward
Let chuma+fultz go
Offer Harris and goga a 1+1 deal

unleash Jett next seaon

Go Magic

Suggs, AB, Carter
Monk, Jett, Harris
Franz, Jett, Houstan
Paolo, Moe, (Cole trade)
Wcj, JI, goga

If they decline it, they're almost assuredly going to spend significant dollars right after that.

If they pick it up, the odds of a huge money signing drop significantly.

And when is the deadline to decline or pick up his option?

Talented but relatively ineffectual, dont you all think? Not that efficient, v high usage guy, not a great outside shooter.

Does move the ball well, which is interesting. But id have thought we were looking for lower usage and higher efficiency rather than the opposite.

Ingram is not a three point threat he shot 35% on less than 4 attempts per game. He would be a terrible fit would be playing someone out of position on defense for overlapping skills

If we're going to end up paying someone like Paul George...I'd prefer it be Paul George. That could become a Zach Lavine deal pretty quick. He's not really exactly what we need...if we're going to spend that much, he should be.

Murray, Monk, Simons, I'm adding Ivey to my short list to explore...Ivey very attractive because he's still on a rookie deal and DET won't demand win-now assets.

Ingram has had better 3PT shooting seasons than this past year.

He has multiple seasons of over 38% under his belt. Higher volume ones too.

There were rumors about New Orleans being interested in Wendell around the trade deadline.

I'm good with that. We have a ton of cap space and all of our picks. We must improve the team with that.

Yeah the only circumstance I'm accepting rolling the dice on Ingram is if Paolo/Franz/Suggs are not involved.

We are going to be linked to almost all big free agents. I bet Weltman has already trimmed it to less than 5.

He can tell us we will keep the secret.

Which is funny because Orlando never shows their cards. I’m convinced the camps of all these players being linked to us are the ones leaking BS to increase their clients leverage. The Magic are easy because they have cap and are at the point where teams on the verge of being very good start making moves.

And when is the deadline to decline or pick up his option?

June 29th appears to be the date most outlets list. I guess they would have a good idea of who's interested and who is not by then.

No a chance I’d even listen once I hear their name or Banchero unless Doncic, Jokic, or a silly good name of that level starts the conversation off

I will bet the inevitable Ingram trade winds up being a lot less than you think.

Everyone already knows they have to deal him to avoid the tax and he’s going into the final year of his contract.

I suspect the return is going to be a lot lighter than people think.
