Yves Missi got me feeling a way....screams of the kind of prospect weltman would like.... I like him too... 6'10 and some change without shoes so pretty much a 7 footer in shoes..... 7'4 wingspan.... 38 inch vert? Pretty nice

Yeah he's an interesting developmental center prospect in this weak draft. Could be a Dalembert type. Or a more mid outcome a Ian Mahinmi type. Very good rebounder.

Hope Topic is okay. I have him #1 on my neutral (i.e. non Magic-specific) big board.

Feels like my Devin Carter dream is all but dead. He tested way too good to fall all the way to 18.

3rd in lane agility
1st in 3 quarter sprint
2nd in standing vertical
T-1st in max vertical

He's gonna end up going like 8th or something.

Becausr of his injury? Well we sure do love those injured players

I really don’t want to draft any injured players. We aren’t desperate for talent and or tanking. Taking fliers on injured players doesn’t map to our goals.

Fultz and Isaac "projects" made a lot of sense at the time. Isaac worked out but Fultz was worth a shot (at least initially)...we're not there anymore-no time or assets to waste.

Having said that, I don't know the severity or prognosis of Topic's injury.

It would have to be a major injury to slip from top 5 to 18.

Whitemore spokes teams and I feel this situation isn’t the same.

Furphy could be a nice g-league draft and stash guy. His game is somewhere between Houstan and Moe Wagner as an off-ball mover who can score from the perimeter but also set screens, roll and make cuts well. Plus he brings chippy defense. I could see him becoming a kind of Max Strus type role player.

Other than that, the C crop is just too solid. Ware, Edey, Filiposwki all look like good prospects.

Typical rumors, our front office rarely trades up or down come draft time!

In 2018, we had a trade in place to send Vucevic, Fournier plus our #6 pick for #2 pick! That's when Divac was running things in Sacramento lol

Is this the right draft to invest more in?

Flipowski may be the player that falls. Just looking at his stats reminds me of Domantis Sabonis.

Based on where we are picking for me it's either him or Devin Carter, worst case scenario, neither of those is available at 18 smh.

You saw that negative wingspan right? He wont get the boards that Domas regularly does.

I think Flip is a more 3pt shooting MoeW.

That’s the thing, he has the size to also roll to the rim and when he does that, or makes a nice read and cut, it really reminds me of Moe. He’s not just a pure perimeter guy.

Hey you and I finally agree on something!

I like Fillipowski a lot and I'm really encouraged by his jump from 28% to 35% from 3PT from year 1 to 2 at Duke.

If that shooting number keeps rising, you have a stretch 5 who isn't an absolute stiff athletically and also isn't too small to go inside and bang bodies.

Return to Orlando Magic
