Watch and tell me Scheierman was screaming for the Orlando Magic to draft him lol. You bring a 3 point stroker to this team + those 2 underrated traits he says he has. Sounds like a fit

The ability to pull up 5 feet behind the NBA 3 point line !
I wonder if this is what a 23 year old Joe Ingles looked like. Not sure if you take him at 18, BUT definitely worth trading back into the end of the 1st round for. Honestly I’d be all for drafting Scheierman and bringing Ingles back for another year to teach him his craft.

I think by the time the draft starts Scheierman will be in the first round. He’ll be up there with Carter and da Silva for Orlando’s pick.

Thank you Sir!
Very kind from you!!

Greetings from Germany
Who are the players you think we should be considering at 18?

A lot of interesting prospects
McCain, Carter, Da Silva, Ware, George, Scheierman, Furphy, Tyson, Carrington.

Not an easy choice for Jeff Weltman.

I would be so happy with Scheierman being the pick.

I'm not a huge believer in Scheierman. When I watch him, he just looks too unathletic to even be a backup in the nba. I guess the likes of Ingles and Niang are in the league too, but I don't think he nearly has the playmaking ability of Jingles. His assists usually come from really easy swing passes to his (good) teammates in the highlights I watched -it's good that he's unselfish, at least- and I can't recall ever seeing a high degree of difficulty pass that wowed me. And the shot is very good, but not elite. Very good rebounder for his position, though (but even there it's a lot of those where his teammates tap it to him etc, not a lot of very contested ones).

I didn't even have him in my top 60 before the combine. Now I have him in the mid second.

P.S. it is funny how much his shooting motion looks like Joe Ingles, though. Maybe it's just a lefty thing.

In the NBA all of his teammates are going to be really good players, he’s a piece to the puzzle not the whole fix. I’d like to see Paolo and Franz become better cutters to the basket without the ball in their hands, Suggs has some really nice backdoor cuts. Drafting Scheierman strictly for a bench roll eventually replacing Ingles or Houston is probably an upgrade. I like that Scheierman is already displaying NBA range and beyond PLUS that step back 3 he has is dangerous, perfected you’re easily going to get your defender off his feet and have good opportunity for an and one or at worst 3 free throws.

Agree, we aren’t drafting starters anymore it’s kinda like a luxury to go into a draft without a whole lot of pressure for once. We can focus on who fits what we need the most and get rid of drafting best player available( all though it seems we might have done that last season also lol) it’s a different feeling.

The Magic fall into the trap every year of taking a one dimensional scorer too late in the draft and end up with shooters who aren't good enough to crack the rotation of non-shooters. Jett Howard being the most recent example. I'd take a good hard look at Edey if he is there when we pick. We could use talent at center and he's a solid backup at worst.

We need to find our scorers in free agency or the trade market in guys who can actually see meaningful minutes and not just replace Joe Ingles. George, Ingram, Monk being the top of that list for me.

wow. if he does that regularly and not just the highlights...

how come I dont see his name in the draft boards.

Was watching day 1 game of the combine and was not familiar with this kid he pulled off a sick behind the back pass that made me rewind it and watch, he has court vision

Court vision/passing had my curiosity, shooting the 3s had my attention

I would be calling him in for a workout just on the passing I saw alone. Usually, the passing in those scrims is bottom tier, at best.

This is a smokescreen! It's value in every draft, even in the 2000 NBA draft. :D

Even if teams don't want to participate in this draft, trades can be made to improve ones franchise.

Lmao. Possibly the worst endorsement of a draft. Tobias is the most overpaid overrated player in the league.

Return to Orlando Magic
