Read that and got excited only to realize it’s a swap… got excited thinking maybe it’s a 1st to throw in for Herro.

Whoa, love it. Pretty much saying we expect to be better than the Suns in 3 seasons.

For a team that pretty much neglects the second round of the draft, this is a nice way to parlay some assets that were probably going to be wasted into something positive. It's a sneaky good deal. Kevin Durant will be 37 in 2026. Who knows what the Suns look like in 3 years. The Magic would hopefully be a playoff team and could potentially make a swap with Phoenix to move up in the draft assuming the Suns fallout. Good move!

Not bad. 2’d round picks are getting valuable now. Glad we stacked up.

Wonder which picks we gave out

These kind of moves crack me up. It's kind of like one front office is spitting in the face of the other

How do we own 26 pick swap when Washington has it from the Beal trade.

Ok so am I understanding this right that the Wizards will be able to swap then we will have the opportunity to swap. So for us to use this we have to be better than the wizards and the suns in practice.

For example of suns get 9th pick wizards get 15th and we get like 20 we would get the 15th pick correct? I hope those seconds are some of our worst. But again we don’t use them and have too many.

I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

How is this even possible? Suns gave up pick swap to Wizards, so Magic can only swap pick if Wizards don't OR if Wizards swap, Magic can swap after?

So best case 20th pick? Odds of both Wizards and Suns sucking in 3 years seem very low

You have it mostly right.

Washington gets the right to swap first and Orlando gets the right to swap second with whatever Phoenix ends up with after the first swap.

Orlando just needs to be better than Phoenix in the 25-26 season to get a benefit here.

The latter.

Washington gets to swap first.

Orlando gets to swap second.

The goal for the Magic would be to have a very good record in 25-26 and swap from like 25 up to like 19 or something.

Unlikely but what if the wizards are better than us (gulp…) but we are still better than Phx, so the pix swaps with Washington then we would just keep our better pick.

We are unlikely to see this swap. The Wizards get first dibs so we can only swap if we are the best of the three teams in 2026 and the Wizards are the worst. Possible I suppose, but this just seems like an excuse to unload more second round picks.

So there is the slight wrinkle of needing to be better than the Wizards as well. Wizards are almost inconsequential to this calculus I think.

If ever we use this swap, I think the jump will be minimal.

I admit I am assuming Washington will easily be the worst team of the three in the 25-26 season.

And honestly the Wizards could be better than the Suns. As long we are are better than both we swap picks.
