It is good the Lakers made the playoffs for Orlando's draft pick. Now the Magic need the Pelicans to also win to get in to keep Orlando's pick as low as possible.

Right now the pick is between 16-19; but if New Orleans loses, the pick is between 17 and 20.

Not for a future pick though. If we move this pick, it should be packaged with other assets to obtain a real upgrade to the roster.

Facts
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I had to check his wingspan before I could endorse him. 6'9" wingspan

Carter is surely at the top on Weltman's board.

His ability to defend multiple positions with his strong 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and 6-foot-9 wingspan, and the toughness he brings as a rebounder give him outstanding role-playing potential with the myriad ways he impacts winning.

If Anthony gets traded as part of a new-PG upgrade, Carter would be an outstanding, win-now, 3rd string guard behind Black as the primary backup.

I LOVE Carter's game. I only like KyShawn George over Carter at the 16-19 range.

George , i saw him playing in France a few years ago.
Very interesting player.
Same goes for Tristan da Silva who i saw playing in Germany.
Magic need also a backup SF.

Which trade you have in mind for PG upgrade?
Even if there is no trade Carter is very welcome because Fultz will not be re-signed.

Imo Carter is perfect to play with Wagner and Banchero.

My opinion is that the Magic needs a SG. The implication of that Suggs would be the new starting PG.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the management went in another direction; sometime they don't listen to my opinion.

This literally the easiest thing to achieve in the free agent market.

Da Silva, a plug-and-play option at nearly 23 years old, brings coveted defensive versatility and feel for the game.
He also doesn't need plays called for him, which could be attractive operating alongside Wagner and Banchero.

I would rather Suggs be the SG not the PG, there is a calmness that the point guard position requires that Suggs lacks at the moment... But I could be wrong and that's the plan, but then why draft AB?

Might not be a superstar draft.... but this seems like it could be another deep draft of quality players. Devin Carter as well.... I'm just over here imagining the end of a game with him and Suggs defending the guard position....

Carter nor DaSilva will make it to our pick.

Would love either though.

They are gonna crush pre draft workouts though.

The Magic went from 22 wins in 2022 to 47 wins in 2024.

They haven't been this good since 2011.

Weltman drafted the 3 best players in Banchero, Wagner and Suggs.

Let him do!!
In Weltman i trust!!

Return to Orlando Magic
