Yeah he is Jameer like. A 5'10 tank of a PG. I dunno how effective that is nowadays

i think he can be effective with his 3 pt shooting. good bench, energy guy

Hmmm maybe... but hopefully Jett is that energy guy off the bench with his 3pt shooting.
Also dont have nuch faith he can outplay Cole as the bench PG role so....

We can go in different routes but there are questions that need to be answered first.... What are we doing with Suggs? PG or SG, up to me? He should be starting at the SG.... What are we doing with AB? is he the point guard of the future? If so then we need to be developing him as if he is, meaning he needs more trust with the offense....

Otherwise if he's just a connector then fine he can take the Joe Ingles role and we should go get a point guard.... What are we doing with Joe Ingles? Does he stay or go? Having that vet presence helps but watching him play some of the worst defense I've seen was very irritating for me.... Up to me? Either draft his replacement or Let AB take his role

I dont think Suggs is ever a true PG and its not about his skill level. He is too hot headed, undisciplined, aggressive. You need to be more controling, deliberate, confident but calm. This postseason will tell some story about Suggs as a starter.
Similar story with AB. I dont see a future PG. I didnt see many glimpses in college and i dont see them now. To me he is a wing connecter and mostly spot up shooter. He is also impulsive, not overly creative (for a lead guard, becouse for a wing he is very good passer).
I would like to see Ingles in assistant coach role, but he could also be our Udonis Haslem. He showed how much we need anyone who can perform pick and roll and shoot. He would be useful even if he didnt defend at all. Its not obvious at a first glance but AB is indeed in some fashion similar with his size and plus passing, but he has also so much work ahead to be similar in impact.

No matter what happens, the Magic will not draft worse than 19. If the Magic lose to the Bucks but make the playoffs, the Magic is looking at drafting about 16.

Excluding falling to the lottery, that's kind of the Magic's draft window: 16-to-19. Devin Carter might be available at that slot if the Magic is win-now. If it is all BPA: Kyshawn George would be my choice.

The Orlando Magic is tied with the Lakers, Sixers, and Pacers. That means there will be a "The Draw", as the NBA calls it, to determine the 16 to 19 picks in the NBA draft.

So: when I said the Magic would draft between 16 and 19, well, all of thos are still the range for the selection. But now selected at a Silver's casino rather than by looking at the W and L columns of the standings.

Anyhow: it is 100% that Orlando will draft between 16 and 19 in the 2024 NBA draft, unless the pick is traded.

I still like KyShawn George, if available (I always think BPA is the choice). If not Johnny Furphy's shooting has to be worth a look.

It's not. Worst case scenario after play-ins: Pelicans out and Magic could end up 20 th.

I don't think the play-ins would count towards your overall record. That's just like the in season tournament didn't count.

But we are talking about draft order. So, it is 100% that Orlando will draft between 16 and 20 (not 19) in the 2024 NBA draft.

trade 16 & Cole and/or WCJ and hope that lands you a better starting guard... Sexton? Garland? Brogdon?

True, but if the Pelicans lose two play-in games this week and don’t make the playoffs at all, they’d hold the No. 14 spot in the lottery instead. The Magic could end up with a pick as low as No. 20 in the first round of the draft (depending on tiebreaker results).

Dunn seems intriguing with his size and wingspan.

This is an excellent observation and is 100% true. Really interesting.

As an aside, that a 49-win team is in the play-ins is pretty shocking.

If the cost of a quality guard is the Magic's FRP and Anthony, that's a price the team pays.

Not for a future pick though. If we move this pick, it should be packaged with other assets to obtain a real upgrade to the roster.
