Box score thoughts:

Orlando lost the FG% battle but won the game. How?

There is only one stat in this game: 56.0%. The 14-25 longball meant that Orlando easily won the eFG% battle. Add to that, the 16-18 FT stat line. This is a shooters' league now. And the Magic hit their shots!

The Magic won the offensive rebounding line, for second chance scoring.

Orlando won the TO differential battle.

The Magic had 14 more FG attempts (mostly because of all the foul Cleveland earned on their shots). But still, those 14 extra chances led to 4 extra FGs whilst surrendering only 4 extra FTs.

One last thought: yes the bench scored at will, but Aces all around for their defense against the Cav's subs. Holy gosh was the bench focused on both ends of the court. Statswise: the Magic bench made 23 FGs and 11 FTs and the Cavs bench made 8 FGs and 4 FTs. That is the game right there!

Fact: When Orlando moves the ball, they win the game. Most of our losses are when the ball sticks. Most of our wins, it finds the open guy.

Don't want to sound like Capt Obvious, but the Magic have definitely had games in bunches where they forget about off-ball movement and finding the open guy. Last night was not one of those.

Great to see. Joe and Franz are big parts of that gamestyle. When they're playing with eyes on swivels, it cooks.

they had to, because our entire starters only scored 20 FGs and 5 FTs. the starting guards both didnt score more than 8 points each. our 2 stars had off nights (which will happen to anyone) with 12 and 14 pt each. they only way we wer going to win is if our bench went off.

Very nice win. Great to see the bench dominating again and the team being able to win even on a subpar night for Paolo and Franz not shooting much. The break seems to have done Ingles a world of good, he looks a lot more spry, moved his feet beteer on D, knocked his shots with confidence and made crisp passes all night. Moe loves abusing skinnier centres down low with his strength so he enjoyed playing against Allen and Mobley. Isaac was dominant defensively yet again, he looks fantastic physicially, if we can get him to play 25 MPG in the play-in/playoffs we can be a dangerous team there. And Cole finally looked like his good version.

Glad to see our bench bounce back so strongly. I felt like all they needed was a series long long naps.

It’s always nice when we get a scheduled loss as a win

Cleveland was in amazing form and we beat them in their house. Hopefully a sign of things to come
