I was thinking the same thing plus now that Fultz can shoot mids again we don't need an offensive guard anymore either

Fultz actually looked good today. I didnt notice a big hitch today. If he can get back to his play last year, that would be huge for us the rest of this season

I still think we need to let him walk though as he is unreliable.

That hitch was very much apparent on his jumpers, and he airballed a 4 foot shot.. but he got to his spots down close and was able to play a bit of bully ball.

4 bad turnovers too. He was okay compared to some recent games but still nowhere close to last year.

I think we are like 7-2 or 8-1 in games Garry Harris starts

Gosh-darnit will coach have slept well tonight. Has the Magic ever implemented his strategy better than in this game. Wow.

When Orlando plays like this, the team can't lose.

Box score thoughts:

Orlando won the FG% battle and won the game.

For the last ~10 games, the Magic has been on a 7-3 run in their last 10. That means the team is every creaping upwards in the Ws minus lose stat line.

The Magic is up 15 at the half. And then there was no letdown as Orlando blew-out the Nets in the 3rd by 15 to take the lead to 30. (I love seeing the Magic not-suck in 3rd quarters!)

Another 35%+ threeball night on good usage. The 9-25 is not great, but it is enough for this team.

The Magic dominated FTs landing on 21 made freebees.

TOs very high for both teams, but Orlando did win the differential +3.

In the end, the key stats in the game were 2pt-FG%, FT rate, and FT%. i.e. Orlando was super efficient down low to make shots and force fouls. This game is Magic basketball!

THe reality is that Suggs as the "PG" and G-Harris as the SG works. Because shooting efficiencies improves.
This is a shooters' league and teams need flamethrowers more than board-crashers at the guard slots. That's F-Wagner's and Banchero's job.

As an aside, when the Magic get a PG that can run the PnR as 40% of all plays, and not drive to the hoop, added to a SG that can shoot, this team will be special.

So: I for one would love to see Suggs at the PG and not the "PG" to see if he can run the PnR effectively. Management needs to know the answer to this question.

Anyone still want to throw all our money at claxton? I haven't watched a ton of him but last night he looked awful. Constantly fouling, not mention sitting there arguing with a referee while Suggs puts him on a poster.

He'd be a good third option on a contending team. His role in Phoenix was about where he would be best at. If the rumors are true and Houston offered all the nets picks back for bridges they are extremely dumb for not doing that so they can properly tank and reset

Exactly why they were mad. They knew Mikal is not a #1 option like Paolo. He is a good Robin or am excellent Batgirl. Those rumors of Jalen Green plus their picks could have madr their future brighter.

I don’t watch Brooklyn’s games but we’ve seen Mikal at his best and worst. He’s probably just going through a slump or just tired legs. I don’t know about building around him but I would love him on this team.

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

I would love to see Cam Thomas & Jalen Green taking a combined 50 shots on ~52TS%, zero defense & 4 Assists per game.

This could be a blue print for next year. Ideally we get that PG who can shoot but there are much more options for a 2 guard who can shoot so if Suggs can improve just enough that would really help.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Yea I'm not sure why he has been touted as a top FA we should pursue. Wendell and Goga are fine, we need a Shooting point guard.

OK is relative, he had several stupid TO's and several other near TOs. Sometimes he looks like he is about to check out from NBA.

If the FO decides to acquire a SG instead of a true PG this offseason.. Monk could be a great fit next to Suggs
