How do you split up our $48 mil in cap space?

2 guards? 1 big + 1 guard?

Would people here be pissed if we did something like 4/90 for Monk and 4/90 for IHart?

I would love it considering we could still make a trade to upgrade the guard spot a bit more.

Or, would you all prefer something like 4/90 for Monk and 4/90 for DLo?

What's the preferred cap allocation?

My apologies if that was too snarky.

The truth is, I don't even dislike Simons and I think his skill set offensively is certainly something this team is lacking.

But I can't trade Black, who is 10 months removed from being the 6th overall pick and showed very nice promise as both a defender and a catch-and-shoot player, for Simons.

It just doesn't work.

It's impossible to say without knowing what the trade market - which theoretically will happen *before* free agency - will shake out.

Like if the Magic could trade for one of Atlanta's guards, then obviously Monk or Russell wouldn't be something that would happen.

My No. 1 target in free agency is Hartenstein. Then look to flip Carter for a guard.

But most of all, I really want them to swing a deal for a high end lead guard.

We're in 100% agreement. IHart is my #1 target as well.

We need to figure out what is up with Cole. He went from bargain deal for a sixth man to barely playable in what seemed to be a single hair cut.

I'd trade this years first + Denver first. Offensively he's great, but he is just so bad on the other end.

1st tell me how you created that cap space.

Cole is getting paid 5 million more next season so moving on from Fultz and Harris gives us 25 million to spend.

We're at ~104 mil WITH Ingles. You decline his team option and we're now at ~93 mil. The cap will be ~141 mil for next season. 141-93= 48 mil

You can get to 44ish if you don’t pick up Moe and Ingles players options and let Harris and Fultz walk.

4 rotational players and almost all our vets.

Cole is getting 5 million more a year and 1st pick has a cap hold too.

Cole's new contract is already included in the link above. You are correct about the pick though. If we hold onto it, you can subtract ~3.5 mil out of the 48 mil from what I see.

Oh my gosh would Magic management jump on that offer. If SImons can be had for that cheap, wow. Throw in Houstan as a parting gift???

I find Sportrac a better tool for salary cap.
