I'm curious if you expect Jett to make the regular rotation next season.

Contracts on the books for next season are:

Jonathan Isaac
Cole Anthony
Paolo Banchero
Wendell Carter Jr
Joe Ingles
Jalen Suggs
Moritz Wagner
Anthony Black
Franz Wagner
Jett Howard
Caleb Houstan

Yup.

The Jingles/Caleb minutes I would think until he shows more

Absolutely guaranteed. They're not leaving a #11 pick for a 2nd season in the minors.

If for nothing more than his asset value, they have to get him into the roster. Has a lottery pick ever spent 2 seasons in the G League? Not many if any.

Yes. He’ll get a piece of the Caleb/Fultz/Gary/Jingles minutes

Absolutely. If we let Ingles, Harris, Chuma, and Fultz go. He has a clear opening to be in the rotation.

yes...if not, traded. Would be an absurd waste of a lottery pick if not. Probably has no trade value, so I really hope Weltman's secret plan to hide and develop in the AAU G-League has merit.

some of those guys under contract will be gone in a trade(s).

0% chance he is traded on his rookie deal. He will get minor minutes.

There is no chance Okeke comes back. That's a roster slot just there for Howard.

Fultz, Okeke and Queen have 1350 minutes combined this season so far, they should be redistributed somehow the next season.

Don't you mean a bench seat?

That slot wouldn't count as being in the rotation.

Dude has to make the top-15 to have any chance to be in the rotation.

But this is an unanswerable question right now. If the Magic firm up the SG slot through trades or the FA, then no, there is not a regular 9-man rotation slot for Howard in day-to-day duties.

The 2024/25 9-man rotation could look a lot like:
Suggs/Anthony
Allen*
F-Wagner/Ingles
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner

*= or Simons, Bogdanović, Kennard, Trent, etc.

That leaves both Black and Howard off of the regular rotation. And many fans here screaming at two wasted lottery picks.

I'm not sure Ingles is on the team next year. Guy can barely move as it is. Black looks more like an Ingles type of ball handler anyway compared to a pure PG. And he has the size to replace him.

You really think they let him go after they lured him here amd he supposedly bought a house?

i fully expect Joe to be back but at a lower capacity. I think Howard will take his minutes next year.

If we still end up relying a lot of Joe next year, that’s spells trouble not only for Jett but for the growth of the younger players as well, imo.

Joe is basically the glue/engine that keeps the 2nd unit running. We need our young guys to develop into that role. Be it Jett or someone else.

Jett will basically be the rookie of the team next year, and it is very much likely possible that our first round pick this year is traded.

That would be extremely out of character for this organization.

I just feel like this offseason will be the year that the front office finally take the steps and builds around the core of Paolo, Franz, and Suggs. With the huge leap this year, the cap space, and major extensions coming up it just makes sense that this summer is when big moves are made. If not, this will be a major missed opportunity.

but they got minimal value now...why would you you trade them at their lowest ? and what would you get for such players...
doesnt make sense...they wont be traded...

and as many suspect Jett will propably get Caleb role at best next season or at least thats what we can expect and sounds rerasonable enough
