The 2024 Combine thread

Post#1 » by three3d » Tue May 14, 2024 3:52 pm

Feels totally different not being in the lottery finally but after day 1 yesterday maybe we can start focusing on the top guys, and players expected to be there around where we pick. Some risers and fallers. Zach Edey measured well and had a good day by all accounts and could be moving himself into a lottery selection. Also heard the name Carlton Carrington looked and performed well day 1. We are in need of a guard and possibly a center and both Edey and Carrington have been mocked as going later then 18.

Thanks for adding that, it’s one of the videos I watched. Going to start to get a visual of some possible risers and followers. Seen another video Bronny measured in at all 6’1” ouch! But he drained his first 12 threes, calling him a G-League draft and stash just to sell out some G League games lol.

Pretty good comp

6'7 slow footed shooter SF that can make plays in transition with a lot to be desired on defense.

He actually dropped 17 points and 8 boards today on 50% 3 point shooting in game action at the combine today. Worth a second round look if they haven’t already traded the 2nd round pick lol

He's one of those guys that will rise to a late first early second simply because he is tall and can shoot. Only reason he is ranked low now is because hes old compared to everyone else. Magic should be looking at some of these older prospects. They dont need to get younger.

With you on drafting older players if they fit what we need. Its been a long time it feels like sense we’ve kinda been able to relax going into a draft and not worry really about getting the best player, hopefully now we can focus about best players that cover what we need the most.

thats why i like Da Silva. 23, 4 years in college, international experience. and we could use a SF/PF combo forward.

Anybody in on Zach Edey? Supposedly he’s been killing it in the combine and even showing a 3 point stroke. He might not be there at 18 now so we’d have to try to move up if there was interest.

That’s why we need Terrence Shannon Jr. Day 1 defense, transition scoring, and 3 ball. Could play backup mins at both the 2 and 3

It sounds like his case is going to a preliminary hearing June 10th and then the charges could possibly be dropped soon after

Is it known what his draft stock was like without those allegations over his head ?
