MIL-ORL trade idea
Ok, I very rarely post trades and Hedo is doing a fantastic job this year, I'd hate to see him go, but this is and idea based around the article stating that Milwaukee are putting most of their team on the trade plate, except for Yi and Bogut.
According to MIL fans, their biggest need is at SF.... so....
Orlando trades:
Hedo Turkoglu
Carlos Arroyo
Pat Garrity
Two 1st round picks
Orlando Receives:
Michael Redd
Milwaukee trades:
Michael Redd
Milwaukee receives:
Hedo Turkoglu
Carlos Arroyo
Pat Garrity
Why for Orlando:
To shore up the SG position. I'm hesitant to deal Hedo, as well as he's been playing this year. He's really been the spine of the team this season... however, this frees up Rashard Lewis to play permanently at SF, with Redd at SG.
A follow up deal would be required by Orlando to find a replacement PF, preferably one who can adequately defend and hit any open shots that are left from Howard being double teamed. Trade bait would be the expirings of Evans, Bogans and Dooling.
Another 'hole' remains at PG, where Nelson is more vulnerable without Arroyo and without Hedo's playmaking. I'd love to see Andre Miller or another equally capable PG in Orlando but they probably don't have the assets to do this deal and another for a PG... especially given the more pressing PF need if Turkoglu is gone.
Why for Milwaukee:
With their season starting to slip following losses such as the massive one to Detroit, this is primarily a cost-cutting deal. They essentially halve the money owed to Redd from their books at the end of the season with the two expiring deals of Arroyo and Garrity.
In addition they get a SF to plug the hole they have there who is playing almost as well as Redd. Hedo's playmaking ability helps Mo Williams play a little more off the ball, freeing him to score more.
They also get two 1st round picks out of the deal.

Fran Vasquez isn't included in my deal... the one position MIL is pretty set at right now is PF/C.
I'd include Vasquez and another expiring if they were willing to deal Villanueva. That's not ideal... we'd have a lot of problems defensively with Villanueva at PF... but it wouldn't be horrible either.

well its not to crazy,(cooled down from the tip in) it is a big need at that position...but trading hedo, arroyo, garrity and 2 first rounders for redd...we should take out a first or get back another big with redd, do that and maybe why not, in my mood
we still have a whole at sf or pf depending on who starts at what position from the bench..

Trade works out financially but I don't see us trading Hedo.
Personally, I'd rather make a run at Artest. Maybe package Arroyo's and Garrity's expiring contracts. Don't know if the Kings would do it though.
Expiring contracts is about all we have to offer at this point. Nobody wants Nelson's contract.

How about Garrity and a 2nd rounder for Kenny Thomas of Sacramento?

I'd do something similar (involving our expiring contract SGs maybe) AFTER this trade but I think I'd rather see what our expirings can get us before settling on an average PF.

The TWO first rounders make it way too much for Redd. I would do that deal, but with only one first rounder in there. Also, I wouldn't call Redd a chucker by any means, that guy is a straight out stud. Orlando needs to be making a run at Andre Miller, he's the guy that could make them challenge Boston to represent the East in the finals.

I've already posted an Andre Miller trade that Philly and Orlando fans both seemed to like...
Basically, Miller/Evans for Arroyo/Dooling/Garrity 1st.
So, I agree, but I also think Redd should be persued if he can be had with this kind of deal.
