Why the hell didn't Orlando trade their expirings for Gasol?

What the ****! They talk and talk about how they need a power forward then let one go to the Lakers for salary papers while they have their thumbs up their ass! I'm sure the Grizz would have been happier not to keep him in the West. Wow, Just wow. Way to drop the ball Otis. Way to drop the **** ball.

Someone reminded me on the General Board that the Bulls were after Gasol, but that the Griz wanted both Gordon and Deng. Now the Griz just traded him for garbage, so my guess is West is trying to help out the Lakers (even though he's not the GM anymore he still has pull).

"I don't see us doing anything. We're always trying to make our team better, but I think what we need, as a team, is more consistent play from the guys we have..." - Otis Smith

Because we didn't have the prospect to match Crittenton, so the Laker deal is still better. It still sucks for Memphis either way though.

Otis is an idiot.

It's ridiculous an ALL-STAR can be had for this price....

I just think there is honestly no "creative financing" in that thick skull of his...

He sees it black and white

My guess is that Otis probably doesn't want to make any major changes (inserting a new starter) when the current system is working. He's biding his time until next year when Battie comes back and Fran comes over.

And on another note guys, possibly Otis did make an offer, but Memphis either didn't want it or were already dead set on the Lakers deal?

Trust me, I bet fans from all teams are now wondering why the heck they couldn't dump their crap on the Grizz for Gasol.

This has nothing to do with Otis.

We're just not exciting enough for Stern.
They want a Boston vs Lakers final, they'll get it, by all means necessary.
