OT - This new bb & images

Is anyone else getting this when trying to post images?

It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

What's the dealio?

Yes, but if you repeat the process a few times, the image actually does get posted even if the preview never shows it, or so I have learned.

I'm getting the same thing. I think it's the new forum update still not functioning properly, not sure what you can do about it. Keep trying a few times though, I've managed to still post the picture after a few tries once or twice already, although I have no clue why.

Yes I was getting that with webshots and a few times when I forgot to resize. It stopped happening when I started using photobucket. Also photobucket has better clarity.

Yes, and it's annoying.

I posted an image on the general NBA board, but then went back to read my post and noticed that the image wouldn't load because the site it was from didn't allow hotlinking. So, I loaded up Photoshop. pasted the image in there, cleaned it up, saved it, then opened up Imageshack and uploaded it there.

So 10-15 minutes later, I'm ready to edit my post and put the new image in. Nope, I get the stupid "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." error, even after previewing a couple of times and eventually just submitting the post. F-ing weak.

I tried to post an image from one that went through before, and it didn't work.

I tried post an image from my server, which has limited restrictions, and got the error.

Have you been using Photobucket all along or did you just change to it? If you just changed to it. It did the same thing the 1st couple of times but then it just started working good and I have not had a problem with it lately. Also when I was using webshots I was able to get it to work by just doing it over and over till it finally took. Sometimes it took over 20 attempts, but I'm talking about SIGS and Avatars. If you are posting a picture within a thread you may be above the kilobyte limits. I don't know if they have a limit, but they may.

Never used Photobucket or any of the other hosting sites.

Ok thats cool. So One of the things that I noticed was that the code was different the photobucket was using. I will get a copy of the code from webshots and a copy from photobucket and post it here so you can see it and maybe that will help you with your code you are using with your web server.

Ok now I see what your talking about. I did'nt realize you were talking about within posts. Which yes that is not working, and I did not know that they had a dimension requirement within posts.

I don't need code for my webserver. As long as my image is in a publicly acessable folder, then it's usable on this site (like my sig and avatar).

Before the bb software change, there was never an issue like this. Since the change, I'm not the only one with the issue.

Not a huge deal. But I hope that the admins know about it and it's on the to-do list.

It's a possibility, as I think it does resize the image in the <img> tag so that the page's format doesn't messed up with a wide image.

But the error message is in effect saying it can't get to the image, but it should be having no problem.

Yeh the reason I was confused is because I was getting the same message with the sigs and avatars. I guess they will get it figured out eventually.
