The Rockets on Friday chose to place guard D.J. Strawberry on waivers, two days after they also waived forward Mike Harris, keeping Wafer.

This guy would be a great pick up for the 3rd PG spot for the Magic. He's a defensive minded 6'5'' Combo guard, which could develop into a special player with the proper mentoring.

I like the guy. He is not a PG though, he is a scorer.

Not a true PG, but is a good defensive player and can defend larger PG's.

Stay away. This guy stinks. He's a decent defensive player but doesn't have any grasp on the offensive game.

And if he was such a good defensive player than why did the Suns, who aren't exactly loaded on defensive players, let him go for nothing?

Dude he is young, and he is pretty good defensively which is a huge plus and, he would be a 3rd string developing pg, I say pick him up, what other available pgs do you want?

Strawberry could be a Raja Bell type of player.. Raja Bell was a good defender, not a good shooter and couldn't push the ball without committing a turnover.. With the right guidance this guy could become a solid player, not sure he'll turn out like a solid role player like Raja Bell, but he'd be decent coming off the bench. I think Crittenton could turn out to be a better player though..

I hope you dont mean he still is not a good shooter.. Raja Bell is a pretty good shooter, he wouldn't be in Phoenix if he wasn't.

I have seen people bring up D.J.'s name in many posts as someone we should target. I have no idea what his game is like but I hope we target someone soon. Or make a big trade for a PF or PG. Either way it would be nice. I still can't figure out why we are not looking in to Lindsay Hunter.

Pick this kid up. I like his game a lot and he could be an energy combo guard kind of like a poor man's Keyon Dooling. I see a good amount of potential in Strawberry.

He has no offensive game though. I mean NONE. It'd be like playing 4 on 5 out there. He couldn't even develop an offensive game with Dantoni. Who I think we can agree is one of the best offensive coaches in the NBA. The Suns gave up on him after one season

Why are you so keen on players who are waived?? There's a reason players get waived. Especially at this time of the season.

Thats just a lie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CMayKt1 ... re=related. His offensive game is by no means great, but its not non existent. And what i like about him the most is his defense. We have so much offense out there on the court already that if he plays good enough defense thats good enough... And he is young and developing, he is like a poor man's Rajon Rondo. He will get better. And lets not forget what we are talking about here, A 3RD STRING PG! Who would you rather have??? And don't say Crittenton, because unless Memphis changes its mind we are not going to get him. DJ would be perfect for a third stringer, just because he was waived by a team who doesnt need him doesnt mean he cant be useful. He definitely would be equally as good if not better than Mike Wilks

not sure how is game plays out, at this point I could almost care less at this point if we even grab a 3pg right now
