Carter at 3,Lewis at 4 and Pietrus at 2 - Source

Post#1 » by G[o][o]se » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:18 pm

Found this on another forum:

Vince Carter — At the moment, it looks like Stan Van Gundy will keep Rashard Lewis at power forward, start Mickael Pietrus at two-guard, and replace with Hedo with Vince at the three. Earlier this year I wrote that Vince would be the missing piece to a championhip in Orlando, and that was before the rest of the core group gained valuable postseason and NBA Finals experience. All Vince has to do is be Vince, and the Magic won’t miss a beat as a championship contender.

This certainly is interesting.

Never doubted that this would be the lineup. However, I predict barnes will start and push Vc to the 2 before the season ends.

Now the question is what will the lineup be the first ten games?

It would be Pietrus at 3, and Vince at 2.

But I bet Barnes starts. (Yes, Game 1)

at PF?

I think the first 10 games it's going to be Bass starting at PF.

best starting line up for us is;

Nelson
Vince
Rashard
Brandon

haha it's just funny. we magic fans have been preaching to the rest that we're finally going to start a traditional lineup and here comes SVG going hybrid again. oh well, he gets paid the big bucks to decide and whatever works right?

Pietrus is probably the best option on most nights. He can defend any 2 or 3 in the league. So you can switch Vince and Pietrus on defense however you like. Barnes is too slow to stick with Ray Allen, Ben Gordon, Rip Hamilton, or Wade. Bass is nice but do you want to sacrifice spacing on offense and make Vince the "perimeter defender" every night? If Vince is willing to take on this role and do it effectively then let Bass start.

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter if Barnes, Bass, or Pietrus start. They all can rotate in & out of the game as needed.

Just another blogger posting his own thoughts about who he wants to start and where. I really don't see any of what he said coming true.

I do see VC at 2 and Bass playing PF while Lewis is out and then backing up Lewis when he returns. Barnes gets playing time when he can like when we need a player to make a statement to another player. Barnes will play the role of thug on court. He did that so often he should be used to that role.

Jameer Nelson
Vince Carter
Rashard Lewis
Brandon Bass
Dwight DROCK

Best lineup unless Anderson explodes.

First 10 games who knows. Could be anything.

Mannnn I really like PIetrus as a 6th man. He comes in fresh, and doesn't have to play really long minutes. He stays very productive that way. The less chance he has to get injured, the better off Orlando is.

You guys think Rashard can guard Pierce?

And want Vince sticking to all the best perimeter scorers in the league? James, Allen, Kobe, Wade...ect.

Stan wouldn't reveal his starters until the end of the training camp or tip-off of the 1st game.

I really wouldnt be suprised if anderson started at PF during the first 10 games.
So, Mo. You're sure the Cavaliers will win Game 4 on Tuesday night and rally to win the best-of-seven series. Willing to guarantee it?

"Guarantee we're going to win the series? Yeah, yeah,"

Whoops...

That's why some of us posted it is just the word of a blogger and nothing else. Nothing to go by when it comes facts.
