Should the 76ers reach out to the Grizzlies about the availability of Ja Morant?

I think a salary dump from ATL + FA is our most likely scenario.

My only conern is would we still resign Oubre if we brought in Demar? Also, Demar has a $80MM 2 year deal from CHI. We'd probably need to match.

Memphis will tell you not available, but it's absolutely worth the call.

Morey should be calling everyone. Or have Brand do it if they won't answer his calls.

Latest reports say ATL would rather trade Trae than Dejounte. And the Sixers should have no interest in Trae.

Sixers trade: #16 and #41

Wizards trade: Jordan Poole, Kyle Kuzma, #26, #51

Washington gets to clear their cap and improve two of their picks by 10 spots.

Sixers take the risk with Poole and get the declining Kuzma contract. Both Poole and Kuzma slide into roles as 3rd/4th options where they've been previously successful. Combined they're at $53M/yr for 3yrs.

Leaves some cap to play with plus the non-taxpayer MLE

Big no thank you to Jordan Poole. He’s a 20 min a night spark scorer at best for a contender. I’d have some interest in Kuzma if the Wiz were looking to dump the contract for a minimal price, but definitely not at the expense of having to take on that Poole contract.

Poole contract is the worst in the NBA

It's a big risk and he's at his worst value, but he played 27+mpg in the playoffs for the team that won the trophy 2 years ago and he's 24

I'd need a future UNP 1st to take Poole and Kuzma into cap space.

Don't see WSH going for that, unless maybe they get some big trade for the #2 lined up where they need space? Trae Young, maybe?

I don't hate it, but I would need another serious asset coming back like TP said.

Poole is the ultimate reclamation project so Morey would be putting his life on the line with this one. I probably like Poole (or the Pre-Draymond assault version) more than 90% of people out there. He was unreal in that championship run and showcased his ability to execute high level decision making while playing winning basketball.

17/3/3 on 50/39/91 and a 65 TS% and a 20% AST / shooting 10 threes per 100 possessions

He's also looked like Steph-lite whenever he's had to run the offense in place of an injured Curry.

-- 2023 26/3/5 on 57 TS% (14-12 record)
-- 2022, 26/5/6 on 60 TS%

It wouldn't be my plan A/B/C, but I'd take putting it on the line for Poole and Kuzma as a package deal before trading 3+ firsts for a 35 year old Jimmy Butler or experiencing the Demar Derozan midrange tour.

Although I turn back because we'd still need like two more athletic rangy defenders at the G and F positions. Poole would also never be able to start alongside Maxey.

The Warriors still had DPOY caliber Draymond and Andrew Wiggins rebounding like Dennis Rodman while locking down Jayson Tatum. We're missing that edge in the middle of the roster. Poole could be 6MOTY here. Kuzma could be a rebounding 4, but we'd need a strong wing defender at the 3 and a bigger 2 guard that can space, handle and defend. Something like Caruso and P.Williams.

I would require 2 firsts to take that Poole contract

I wouldn’t take Poole. With Joel and Maxey, he would be reduced to a spot-up shooter. Without Embiid, he isn't reliable enough to be the engine of the offense, nor can he effectively play a two-man game with Maxey.

At that salary, I’d rather have John Collins or Jerami Grant.

Sign $16M D’Angelo Russell or Malik Monk

Jerami Grant
Joel Embiid

He doesnt have much value with the overlapping of Maxey and him. I’d rather go after Lauri.

I might entertain Poole at half his price as an off the bench sniper, which is all he was ever meant to be.

Why are you guys trying pair non defenders next to Maxey . I don't get it. Maxey needs a 2way with some size to play next to in the backcourt.

I think they're just throwing stuff out there for the sake of discussion. How many times can we talk about Paul George? I like the creativity.

If we can bring in two wings who can shoot, I think we just play Oubre at the 2.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
