But in Philly, he can be a fast break partner for Maxey, he hit 41% on corner 3s last year, he’s a decent cutter, & has the size/athleticism to be a solid defender/rebounder.

I think Tobi is actually a good mentor to show him that buying into a role can really improve your value to the team & across the league.

He's maybe the most prototypical wing Sixers have had in the few years I've been watching; and that ability to take and make corner 3s, run the floor and attack the basket and play defense. Looking at these things on paper, he's a great fit next to Tyrese/Melton/Harris/Joel.

I'm not completely convinced they should start him and that he'll play smart on both sides.... But I hope him starting is their intention until he proves otherwise.

There’s a reason why he’s still available for cheaps. But, if you go out and get Nick Nurse to scheme and re-align, its nice to have some players with some physicality left to them to potentially execute, whatever the odds.

If you can get Oubre to play defense it's not a bad lotto ticket. He doesn't seem to be as bad a defender as his reputation suggests. He seems prone to brain farts that look really bad when they happen but he seems capable and at least somewhat willing. I'd venture Nurse could coach him and squeeze some more out of him on that end.

Personally I think he'll be pretty useless on offense but I think he could at least be better than House on that end.

It's like whatever, at this point lol.

Another unlikeable bonehead added to a team already filled with them.

Always enjoy your optimism, Kobble. Then again, I still believe Harden will be on the roster when the season opens and, as usual, play well in the regular season. Playoffs are another matter. But Oubre's good value for $2 million, bonehead or not. Just my opinion.

If Embiid goes down with a season ending injury, I'm pushing for Oubre and Maxey to be 25ppg scorers to inflate their value.

So Oubre has been a nice addition so far with with his , length, athleticism and scoring ability. Now that we have acquired 4 forwards should he feel threatened ?or has he earned his spot at the first forward off the bench.

I would prefer for him to still get big mins off the bench and maybe finish the game if he has it going.

I would prefer Oubre start now. We never score enough in the opening quarter. Now that we’ve lost some defense(Tucker) we will need more offense.

Nah, he's our only legit bench scorer. And now that Tucker is gone, the starting lineup will see a boost in scoring potential with anyone of the guys we brought in.

Ray Allen’s shooting with prime Tony Allen’s defense you mean?

Dude has 3rd highest wingspan on the team. At a little over 7'2. That's huge for a wing with that size and athleticism.

No wonder he's thrived as a cutter.

He dunks! I can't believe it when he does it. Joel doesn't even dunk.

Neo Oubre is a totally different player compared to last seasons, he is completely locked in.

Wow what a take by me. I shudder to think was the record and the angst level would be in the forum if we didn't sign him. I think by track record he's going to have some absolutely maddening games soon here but he's been a find, like how Bruce Brown transformed the Nuggets last year for cheap.

I mean, at the very least he is an athletic wing with solid size and really good wingspan to defend the good perimeter wings, that alone is probably worth more than the minimum already for this team.

They paid PJ fricken Tucker 11m per.

Hes been the best bargain of the NBA offseason so far, by much.

I guess he can become a JR Smith type of talent, that figures out how to use his scoring talent and athletic tools effectively on a contender later in his prime.

So far hes been great for us, a much needed addition of lenght, athleticism and scoring punch at the wing.
