Tari Eason is the theft target. He's injured right now and there's higher investment draft picks ahead of him at the F spots. He can be had, out of Houston.
He's an elite defender with athleticism and the markings of a good jumper. He can be the next OG.

I doubt it, I feel like I’ve already seen articles attributing their slow start to him being injured. I think the Rockets know how good he is

Yeah but they didn't like him enough to not give Dillon Brooks a 4 year $86m contract to basically be their SF.
Between Smith and Brooks having a stranglehold on 30+ mpg at the F spots and then Thompson and Whitmore being rookie Fs with arguably higher upside, it feels like Eason could be had.

Does this team have a shot at a Championship this year? And how many picks would you give up to make it work?
Maxey-Pat Bev
Derozan-Melton-Springer
Bogdanovic-Oubre-Kmart Jr
RoCo-Batum-Reed-Morris
Embiid-Reed-Bamba
Sixers out- Tobi, Korkmaz, House
Sixers in- DeRozan and Bogdanovic
Bulls out- DeRozan
Bulls in- Wiseman, Korkmaz, House
Pistons out: Bogdanovic and Wiseman
Pistons in: Tobi
That’s works $ wise…just a matter of what the Sixers would have to add to satisfy the Bulls and Pistons.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
The key is to not trade Tobi and get a couple of good players back with Clips players and picks. Why? Because most of the guys were getting back is almost only as good as Tobi
But if the gap is big, let’s say Markannen. Then go ahead

I like how you prefer we get Cam Thomas and filler than Markannen.

Mikal Bridges is all I want. Everything else is fodder. Cheers!

Kobblehead wrote:Lauri is just more of the same that we had with Saric and have with Harris. An unathletic F that can't defend.
John Collins makes more sense on paper for what we're looking for. Athletic F that can defend (when he wants to). The question is whether or not you can trust his shooting and attitude.
Last season Lauri was one of the best shot contesters in the league - different from blocks where he is not good. He also held ground in several games against wings like pg13 and mpj and someties even the faster ones. He had one of the most dunks in the league and has great lateral movement in the perimeter. This season he has been also averaging almost ten rebounds a game. John Collins in fact have been less consistent in defense. I dont care who are U after but just came in to give this two cents as someone who is following Markkanen.
But Collins is good. He is also the one U might have ammo to trade for.

He's teetering on the brink of mid. He's really not that good. If you want a bigger and much better defender with equally minimal off the dribble creation or passing just opt for OG.

Yup, totally agree. He also is an overrated defender, specially nowadays when he conserves his energy on defense,

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Lauri Markkanen is of the Michael Porter Jr / Klay Thompson phenotype.
1st in Spot-Up PPP
1st in Half-Court PPP
2nd in 2nd-Chance PPG
8th in Screener PPP
99th Percentile Hand-Off PPP
On only 51.5 touches per game last season. (less than Bruce Brown, Jerami Grant, Kyle Anderson, PJ Washington, Buddy Hield, Royce O'Neale...)
Invaluable type of off the ball specialists that you die to put around your superstar.
Just look at how revolutionary Kelly Oubre Jr has felt just by being an individual that's willing to shoot the ball relentlessly regardless of gamestate.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Why would Jazz trade Markannen?
Ainge would ask Maxey and a first rounder for him.
Collins is the cheap option and we might even get paid to absorb his contract. Like an expiring + pick swap for Collins and a lightly protected pick (they have a lot of picks).
We then can ship that pick, among with all the picks and expirings for a big time player.

He's an untouchable commodity, but I just saw people on the prior page misprofiling him. A John Collins comparison is wildly disrespectful. Nic Batum is more likewise Lauri Markkanen than John Collins is.

Thats why he’s cheap. If you want someone more like Lauri Markkanen, then that guy is Kelly Olynyk

He was the guy I was hoping would fall to us. Was good with the Melton trade once he was no longer on the board.
I don't imagine the Rockets are looking to trade him. Would you be willing to put an OG level package on the table to acquire him (multiple 1sts)?

Because the Jazz aren't very good with him, and they need to bottom out and get a franchise player?
Agreed that Markkanen is a role player, but he's an extremely high end role player. 3 1sts when they got him as salary in the Mitchell trade is a huge win for Ainge. And he is a big upgrade on Tobias. Great fit with Joel, and his salary is low enough they can still have over 30M in cap room to sign a guy like Anunoby.
There is no 100% perfect player who is going to come here and save this team. That's why they ought to be looking for the Gobert package for Embiid. Since that is not happening, it's all just trying to make the best of it and hope for lightning in a bottle.

They do have a ton of guys in front of him, though. It's not realistic of Houston to ask that for a guy who is buried. If they want to keep Eason, though, let's talk about Whitmore. Or Thompson. Or Jabari. One of them has to be available at a reasonable price IMO.
