Yea, the Eskin hating has got to stop.

You can absolutely still hate Eskin while acknowledging his sources are usually trusty.

I heard both report the Brand signing. And Eskin reported it first, before ESPN. I'm just stating facts. I really don't care who likes Eskin. I don't even listen to WIP. I just happened to tune in that day because it was the day or two before signings could begin and I wanted to hear some basketball talk. If it makes you feel better to say ESPN reported the Brand signing first, then go for it.

Eskin certainly did report it much before ESPN did.

Not just before, but like 5 hours before.

Eskin also reported the day before that Brand was who the Sixers were going after and not Smith so much.

I think Ric Bucher and Mark Stein both do a good job and are credible, particularly considering that they cover the entire league, so I am not trying to criticize them.

Eskin has really gone up on my credibility list after hitting both the Brand signing and now this.

Now if only Ed would stop screwing around and wrap up that sign-and-trade deal of Iguodala and Evans for Michael Redd. :-)

althought getting rid of evans( salary) would be ok..redd never showed me he had game plus his shooting seems to have stalled or gone backwards

It sure wasn't stalled out the other night when he shot 6 of 8 from 3 against Canada. Of course going off against Canada doesn't count, does it?? (sorry Stanford!) :-)

Its a great pickup taking our $$$ and need for a shooter circumstances into account.
But Rush is what he is...a spot up shooter off the bench, which is exactly what we needed.

Kareem Rush addresses the glaring need for a backup SF significantly as well as add a legit sniper from downtown.

What we need now: Can Iguodala FINALLY develop the ability to break down a man and/or shoot the 3 ball. If by pre-season the answer to these questions are still no, it's time to revisit those S/T talks.

What are you talking about? For Iggy to play in the pre-season he would have had to have signed a deal or the QO. If he had signed a deal, we wouldn't be able to trade him until December. If he signed the QO we wouldn't be able to trade him period since the other team wouldn't get his Bird rights. There's a deadline on free agency.

Unfortunately, I think the answer to your question is NO. In my opinion, you either have a quick first step or you don't. I don't think that's something you can develop. Lou Williams has it. Iverson has it. Kobe has it. Iguodala doesn't have it. He needs to rely more on his strength and ball handling skills to get to the rim.
