Whose this Ronald Moore kid? 8.3 APG in College basketball is impressive. Many a times PG'S barely average 5 assists in college. He screams project to me, I wouldn't mind a second round selection.

hes definately a true PG. Hes a more athletic Derrick Rose with a jumpshot.

And to the other guy I understand what your saying about Jrue, and under no circumstances would I give up on Jrue just because we get John Wall. However as much as I love Jrue and what he can do and what his potential is, hes not John Wall. John Wall has the playmaking skills that Jrue has, only hes more athletic, quicker, stronger, and faster at doing it. I love Jrue and hope hes a Sixer for a long time, we just need John Wall right there with him for a long time too

Read a little Chad Ford on ESPN and apparently the NBA scouts are telling him that Wall is the best PG prospect since Chris Paul.

Wall is everything that you could want from an 18 year old prospect.

To me...if you get the #1 pick you take Wall and hope to develop a Thomas-Dumars 2.0 backcourt with Wall-Holiday.

Exactly. I watch a TON of college basketball and i havent seen a guy like him in a while. Its rediculous to watch these highlights of him and see him play and then remember that hes only 18.

haha yea theres 96 minutes to be played between the 1 and 2 spots and I would not mind at all to have those 3 playing 32 min a night in the Sixers guard spots the next 8-10 years.

Holiday certainly has the skillset and ability to slide over to the 2.

I wouldn't be surprised if he added another inch or two as well.

Look at him, he is still growing. At UCLA he was about 6'3" maybe 6'4" on his tippy toes. Now he is basically an inch (at the most) shorter than Iguodala.

Saw Ronald Moore a few weeks ago. 6'/156lb guard that can't shoot (37% through 4 years). By far the best player on that Siena team and the one that has a chance as a pro is Ryan Rossiter and he probably won't be drafted.

Just found out this guy's cousin is John Salmons. Size will keep him out of the league.

He looks about a couple inches shorter than Igoudala.

Next time he dresses try to find him in team huddles after timeouts.

He towers over Willie Green who is listed at 6'3" and he is right there with Dre.

Seeing him every game last year for UCLA I can see significant height differences. His legs and neck look longer.

So, he essentially ran from the question because he realizes that his own job is in question if he pulls the plug on EJ. A win would help though, huh? Really. Anyway, a win will help in the standings, but is kind of like taking a cortisone shot to mask a real injury. Until the underlying issues are rectified, a win means almost nothing and there is no foundation on which to build.

And with that, I creep ever closer to canceling my NBA Ticket. I will always love the Sixers and follow them religiously, but I am so annoyed watching them play right now, it galls me to pay for an E. Jordan product. Perhaps I'm better off just watching the televised games like the masses.

At the combine:

Holiday: 6' 3.25" (w/o shoes), 6'7" wingspan, 8' 4.5" standing reach
Iguodala: 6' 5.75" (w/o shoes), 6'11" wingspan, 8' 9.5" standing reach
DWade: 6' 3.75 (w/o shoes), 6'10.75" wingspan, 8' 6" standing reach

Reach and wingspan are key for defenders. Wingspan more for outside defenders, reach more for post defenders.

There is no way that the Sixers are firing Jordan before the end of the season...they are going to take EVERY PENNY of that Wizards subsidy (and I was wrong - that number is closer to $4 million) before paying another guy to coach this team.

Damn.

The one good thing, I guess, is that we may wind up getting a top-5 pick in the draft...at the cost of being simply unwatchable. However, I absolutely DETEST how much Comcast is getting off the hook financially, though...between the Wizards subsidy for Jordan and the $600,000 marketing payment for Iverson, they are not feeling NEARLY enough pain for what they are putting Sixers fans through this season. For a lot of reasons (not for the players, though) I hope they come back from the "Disney on Ice" road trip with a record of something like 8-and-25...and that the gap between their attendance and the team with the next-worst attendance is similar to the gap between our 3-point defense and the next-worst 3-point defensive team.

I guess you missed the whole "I think he is still growing" part. You do realize teenagers have the ability to grow right?

The combine was when Holiday was 18. LeBron James grew an inch and 30 pounds since his combine results.

Right now, Jrue Holiday is easily on the better half of 6'4" in shoes and closing in on 6'5"

He was 6'4.25" with shoes at the combine.

Very few people grow considerably after 18. Weight gain? Sure. Height? Very rarely.

And you do realize your "observations" are about the worst way you can possibly try to evaluate height, right?

I'm sure it's more likely Holiday hit a huge growth spurt after 18 than it is your measurement is inaccurate due to camera angles...

He certainly will continue to fill out, but most men do not grow more than 1/2" after age 18. there are notable exceptions lie David Robinson. But he was the exception and not the norm.

For 99.9% of people, your arms and legs are done growing by 18. Your back is the last thing to stop growing, but typically that means somewhere between 0-1" from 18-21 without any additional increase in wingspan. Just talking medical facts. Jrue could be the exception.

Yup.

And from his freshman year at UCLA to now, he is significantly bigger.

Honestly, Jrue has plenty of size and length already to become an elite defensive PG. He can also guard some SG's, but to move him full time to SG would waste his talents.

It is more of a possibility if he ends up only becoming a bench player. then he could give you different looks at both guard positions, making him a valuable utility guy. If he projects as a starter (and hopefully he does) then he will be a PG and not a SG.

Can someone provide examples of coaches who got fired early on during their first year with a team?
