Sixers have picked up Iverson contract for rest of season. Had to do it by Wednesday, so it's one day early. What do you guys think?

Rafer Alston anyone? The Nets just bought him out and Stefanski raved about him after the Magic playoff series last season.

I would like to see us bring back Moses Malone to coach Sam. That seemed to work out well in the past.

I don't think Moses would come back considering how Ed treated Mo.

bad move, IMO

adds nothing to the team or the attendance

better off going with lou/jrue at the point

Agreed. I'd prefer they fire the coach at the same time, start a real youth movement

I've seen enough of our youth to know that I'm thrilled they've retained AI.

Now let's fire the coach, drag DiLeo back to the bench, start Elton and win some games.

Funny pregame moment: Asked about Arenas being a jokester, Jordan only talked basketball. He said Arenas "is an assassin on the court." Not making it up.

Iverson on the Sixers picking up his contract for the rest of the season: "Honestly, I hadn’t even thought about it. I didn’t really know anything about it until this morning (laughs)."

Okay disagree. But come on, saying he adds nothing to the team is utter bs. Please explain how he adds nothing to the team.

Iverson on if he's enjoyed his second stint with the Sixers: "Yes. The only frustrating part of the whole thing was getting into playing shape and dealing with my knee. That’s been the only rough part of this whole thing. As far as the fans and city embracing me like they did from Day 1, like they did, that’s been great. That was something that I really wanted to happen. It made me feel that much more comfortable. ... I hadn’t been having fun in a long time. I’m back to feeling good about basketball and coming in and going to work -- feeling good about the people around me and my situation. Just being comfortable, appreciated, wanted. It’s just a positive environment."

Iverson on some Philly fans not liking him wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat after Sunday’s Sixers’ victory in Denver, the same day the Cowboys beat the Eagles, 24-0: "People are angry about me wearing clothes?"

I'm fine with AI being on the team for the remainder of the season. He seems to be cool with playing less minutes...he has been FAR from the 'AI is a PIG" ballhog that he was in his first go-around...I appreciate that people want Jrue to get the minutes, but I think that if AI wasn't here, the minutes would just go to Green and Lou anyway.

Jordan on what he's seen from Iverson and Lou Williams starting together in the backcourt: "It’s still a work in progress. It’s going to go better as the season goes along. I like the tempo. I like the fact we haven’t gotten hurt with guys posting up. Sacramento tried it, Utah tried it. Our team defense overcame all of that. Defensively, the things people thought would hurt us hasn’t hurt us. Offensively, they’ve kept the tempo for us."

By taking minutes away from Jrue. I like his aggressiveness and playmaking, and if they had a better coach who could spell D, then I'd be okay with making a run with AI. However, given that Jordan is a a black hole where winning hoops goes to die, then we are just speeding down a one-way street in the wrong direction. I'd prefer the time be given to youth development.

LOL what a joke. Seriously? Hasn't almost every guard we've played recently totally gone off against our team? Getting to the lane with ease? Getting open shots? What does how well our post guys play D have to do with LWill/Iverson starting?

Ummm.. The Clippers abused those matchups. SAC was getting great shots, Greene failed to convert bunnies. Besides, they are getting killed in Dribble penetration anyway(See DEN, CLIPS et al).

The right move. The team has played better with him on the court. He is doing things the "right way". Larry Brown must be proud.

Dalembert has a double-double (12 and 10) at halftime. Sixers are shooting 61.5 percent from the field and hold 24-11 edge. They lead by 14, down from a high of 17.

Sixers are on the verge of blowing this game. They're down six (96-90) with 3:06 to go and have been outscored by 24 since leading by 18 with 9:11 left in third. They're not hitting free throws (12-for-22) and have committed six fourth-quarter turnovers.

Dalembert (18 and 18) having a big night.
