It is interesting how each year this forum overflows with frustration with the playing time that Willie Green seems to always get. One of these years, it may occur to those most frustrated that perhaps ... just perhaps ... there is something about Willie Green's game that is pleasing to an NBA coach. Is he an all-star ? No. Is he a starter on a championship team ? Maybe not. But he is a good basketball player and he works hard. All his flaws are well documented and acknowledged on this forum but in the final analysis he seems to have something that those most frustrated with his play just do not seem to see. Go get em Willie !!!

Agree. Green is an NBA player, if not a starter. He is a coachable decent defender and can get his own shot on offense.

This year my main thing was thinking about who I was going to be on the court with. Lou’s going to be running the point, Thaddeus is going to be on the wing with me, Elton and Sam are going to be inside. We’ve got Marreese Speights who can be an All-Star player. I’m looking at everyone on our team and how I can make everyone better and how we can win games.

I found this little tidbit from Iguodala's media day transcript to be interesting. I like the optimism he has towards Speights, but all star sounds like pretty wishful thinking.

Would be my guess, too. A lot of times, coaches like to give the veterans the early nod, then let the best player earn the job. I will say that neither Holiday nor Christmas stood out from what I saw today.

I'm guessing that Jrue didn't stood out because it's his first day EVER in a NBA TC. I hope I'm right. :D

The Sixers have brought in another big man to replace Stromile Swift, though he's not practicing yet.

Stop the presses -- it's Rashad Jones-Jennings. The 6-foot-8 Jones-Jennings led the nation in rebounding at Arkansas-Little Rock in 2006-07. He's been playing in Europe. He's here, but not practicing.

Well, from what I just read about him ....

His only role on this team would be to put him in when you absolutely have to get the next rebound and then when he gets it ... call time and take him out. He has absolutely no offensive skills ... if you thought Evans was bad ... this guy is off the charts.

Again ... this comment only from what I just read about him on the internet.

Accurate ???

Wasn't Jones Jennings on our training camp roster last year?

That's his reputation, though he probably won't be here for too long. He averaged 8.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks for FC Bayern München of the German League last season.

Think he was on the camp roster two years ago, but I'm not positive about that.

Jones-Jennings would add youth and energy and is one of those guys who, in limited minutes can't hurt you.

The total opposite of Willie Green: Unless he's hot, limited minutes cannot only hurt you it can't help you either.

Yes, he can "get" his shot, but he can't hit it. How many 3-9 performances must we see out of this scrub?

Dedicated, how much Jones Jennings footage have you seen to assess that he cannot hurt us in limited minutes?

That's his ceiling. I see the best case scenario for Speights as being pretty close to LaMarcus Aldridge, who can be considered an all-star caliber player.

Dalembert tweaked his right shoulder several times during practice and sat out the final 20 minutes of a marathon 3:30 session. He said he should be fine and that the small tear that bothered him for much of last season is much better.

Jones Jennings is a camp body - nothing more. Even if he had a truly RIDICULOUS camp and somehow became the 14th guy, like Swift, he would likely only be kept until the date where contracts become guaranteed.

Among the potential 14th guys, Singletary has looked the best from what I've seen.
