Sadly, Brazilian footballing great Pele passed away at 82 years old a few moments ago. Rest in peace to one of the original icons of the game and a true legend.

As a brazilian, it's a sad, sad day.

Absolutely horrible year for us: Olavo de Carvalho, Pelé, losing at the World Cup, fraudulent elections, etc. But say no more.

Greatest player ever, bar none.

I trust what those who came before me testified, decades upon decades ago, about his greatness.

Just imagine a match with all those long gone futebol greats, like Maradona, Didi, Garrincha, Di Stefano, Yashin, Cruyff, Nilton Santos, Carlos Alberto, Bobby Moore, George Best, Puskas, Eusébio and so many others may be happening right now in a certain place...

May God, in his infinite mercy, welcome him with open arms into Heaven.

RIP Rei Pelé.

Edit: I made a few posts about Pelé's greatness in the Futebol board... for those who are interested in reading, here it is.

(just copying what I wrote in the NBA's General Board)
