I think Tielemans is a class player and I think he'll do well at Villa. Villa did good. I say that first because I don't want people to think I'm dissing Villa or Tieleman's qualities with my following comments.

Tielemans refused to re-new his contract with us because he wanted to play CL football (we had just flopped to 5th in the prem and were only playing Europa league). Over the last couple of years Tielemans has continued to refuse to sign and we've been told by his agent that Real Madrid and Arsenal were the two most likely places he'd end up.

Now we see that Tielemans is going to a team that finished 7th in the Prem and who have a Conf league place. I can only laugh at Youri Tielemans. He has had a poor year, his mind has been elsewhere and his standard of play has dropped. This is part of the reason we were relegated, clearly it's not only Leicester fans who think this as we now see the best offer he got was from a non-CL team, a team who were not as good as us when he refused to re-sign a very lucrative deal with us.

He has incredible skill and with a manager of the quality of Unai Emery I'm sure that things will work out well. But if you see him puffing and panting to get back from March onwards next season, then you'll understand that Youri has been held back from being a world class talent because he has natural stamina issues which he has been unable to overcome. He runs out of steam in the final quarter of the season. Very intelligent as well as skilfull, i thought he'd end up at Liverpool, but tbh he needs a more sedate possession based team to thrive.

In the end it's a step sideways and another player shwoing that football is about money and a team is the supporters and not the owners nor the players.

It seems to be the general consensus for his move by Leicester fans, I get it because I felt the same when Villa got relegated and some of our players in the lead up felt the need to stop playing for the club for various reasons.

In the last 10 years I’d say Leicester have been the best team in the midlands, you’ve won the Prem and Fa Cup in that time span. Majority of teams would dream of that, while playing in an error dominated by billionaire owners and states running teams.

In regards to Youri, I’m generally pleased with the move but I’m skeptical of him due to the way he leaves teams. Also the fact his effort goes out the window when a move doesn’t materialise. I trust Emery as he was the one that pushed for this so he probably thinks he can ‘resurrect’ his career as the last 18 months he’s dropped off quite a bit. (Although some of his stats don’t look as bad as I thought they would in the last year).

He’s not likely to start for us as Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara are our starters, but Tielemans will get quite a lot of game time because of the amount of games we could play this season.

David Raya close to agreeing personal terms with Spurs. Good goalie, always looks good whenever I watch Brentford.

Not sure where Brentford stand on the fee but they won't get the 40m they want. Will likely end up about 25m.

Kokçu to Benfica for 30M. Smart move. Eases the learning curve for João Neves and lightens the load if Florentino Luis leaves.

Let's be honest here, other than Real Madrid, who can afford him?

No one else in Europe including Real can currently afford him. The tweet admitted in the most roundabout way that literally nothing changed.

Signing that contract with PSG was the dumbest move.

3rd summer in the row is it? I’m guessing seeing your peers winning UCL back to back years (Haaland and Vini) must make you want to chase that feeling as well. The question is where does he go?

^^^^i doubt he's crying himself to sleep on Europe's most lucrative contract. Madrid may actually be able to afford Mbappe both in wages and absolute fee now because 3 of the most expensive contracts will end on the 30th (hazard,Benzema, asensio). It's still horribly expensive and 2.5x the wages of a better footballer's (CR7) peak contract at the club.

Starboy.

Bernardo, Kang-In, Ugarte. Campos is cooking. Club DNA is being transformed into something far more sustainable and high level. A more cohesive unit. Selling Mbappe for $ and getting Neymar/Messi off the books is positive as well. They’re finally doing it the right way. There is a wealth of talent brewing in France that they can use to build an organic superpower from the ground up.

Real Madrid ended their interest in Havertz due to Chelsea's high asking price, but now Arsenal are interested in signing him.

The question is, does he really fit Arsenal? I think most would agree that he's more suited as a hole player making runs and plays behind a striker, rather than being deployed as a central striker himself as Chelsea frequently did. I don't think Arsenal really play with one, and with Jesus being a better striker and Odegaard being a better attacking midfielder, I can't really see the fit. I suppose it could give them some tactical flexibility.

Declan Rice would be a good get for them, though.

Read today that Spurs were almost ready to make an offer for Maddison and Barnes - £50m for the 2, I nearly fell off my chair laughing. Maddison alone is costing more than that.

You're right, but I think the biggest issue Leicester will have with selling Maddison is the one year left on his contract. Bidding clubs will feel like they can get him for less, especially with Leicester's relegation. Whether that actually turns out to be the case, I don't know.

I don't think Spurs are interested in Barnes, but I might be wrong. Maddison, certainly, but I've not heard about Barnes to Spurs from good sources. It's only the Daily Mail reporting that double swoop thing.

If that Brighton chappy is being priced between 90 and 120m and he's been given the right to move someone has to pay £60m for Maddison with the English premuim.

You mean Caicedo? Good player for sure. I find it hard to quantify the value as I don't really know the going rates for players in the Premier League anymore, it's been madness for some time now.

As an addendum I still think about this every time Harvey Barnes is mentioned in any context:

oooohHhhHhHhhH it's an equaliser! arvey barnes
