Hi Guys, Suns fan here. I was thinking of a trade that will both improve the suns long-term and at the same time minimize the salary base. This is my 3 way trade version that does it all for Phoenix, Milwauke and Minnesota.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=
Minessota Trades Al Jeferson, Ratliff and Doleac for Redd, Villanueva and Barbosa.
Bucks Trades Redd and Villanueva for Doleac, Marion and Phoenix's Atlanta Pick (estimated somewhere 10-15).
Phoenix trades Marion, Barbosa, Tucker and Atlanta Pick for Al Jeferson, expiring in Ratliff and McCants.
New Timberwolves Roster:
Madsen / Villanueva / Walker
Villanueva / Walker / Gomes / Smith
Ryan Gomes / Smith / Green
Redd / Barbosa / Brewer / Jaric
Barbosa / Foye / Telfair
Why for the Timberwolves:
Minessota gets an all-star player in Redd, uprising Brazilian Blur and a 20-10 player given the playing time in Charlie Villanueva. Thier rebuilding wont take too much time because of these three marquee players. By doing this trade they now have key players in the post and in the wings. Come June Minessota drafts either Michael Beasley or DeAndre Jordan to fortify thier squad. Having a player like Redd will speed up the development of either of those post players.
New Bucks Roster:
Bogut / Gadzuric
Yi / Doleac / Voskhul
Marion / Simmons
Mason / Tucker
Williams / Bell
Why for the Bucks:
They get a durable all-star wingman in Marion. Bucks can resign Marion with the $20 million contract per year by using the expiring contract of Doleac. Finally Marion now gets a limelight of being a leader of a young team. Marion sets the tone of defense and veteran leadership for the team and the Bucks can fully defelop the offense of Williams, Yi and Bogut with Redd out of the team already. And with Atlanta Pick they can pick the Bucks can draft best available player come Draft night.
New Suns Roster:
Nash / Banks / Strawberry
Bell / McCants
Hill / Diaw / Piawkszhi
Stoudamire / Skinner / Marks
Al Jeferson / Skinner / Ratliff
Why for Suns:
Suns get an equally skilled off-guard in McCants. Suns get a little slower in terms of footspeed but McCants defense and length is still a huge upgrade for Barbosa. Not to mention McCants has cheaper contract.
Ratliff serves as a filler for the trade. He can give serve some garbage minutes at the post and maybe throwing fouls on Duncan. With Sarver getting salary consious as of late and Marion asking for a $20 million salary per year this trade makes sense moneywise and future building. By doing the trade the Suns will get a 20-10 player in Big-Al who plays decent post defense for only $65 million in the next five years starting next season. That is way cheaper than the amount Suns want to resign Marion. Besides the Suns will never outrebounded again with Amare and Big-Al in the post. Suns lost some quickness in the starting line-up but that wont matter much with two of the Top 10 post scorers in the league. This will also give way to Amare's desire to evolutionize his game as inside and outside gunner for the Suns, ala-Bosh.
Suns now have legitimate chance of dominating the West by forcing Duncan, Dirk and Yao in foul trouble by playing defense against Amare or Al Jef right on. Also, there will no more Al Jeferson eating the Suns alive in the paint. :D Besides Suns will have a counter duo that can match-up against uprising Oden-Aldrige tandem.
What do you think?

Not only would Minny not even consider that, why would we want Al Jefferson next to Amare? Big Al is basically the same player, except he plays with his back to the basket instead of facing up. He's not a significantly better rebounder than Marion, so we'd still have the same problems w/ interior D and rebounding.

Im sorry, but the op obviously didnt account a lot of things before making this trade offer.
First OFF..... Al Jefferson is.. IS.... Untouchable... for them, that is.
They wouldnt trade Jefferson for Kobe, unless Bynum comes with him at the moment. Its not just talent anymore, but future. Al Jefferson is just basically starting his emergence as the team's franchise for the next decade and a bit.
Everyone else would be tradable however.
Since that point has been emphasized... the rest of the proposition is redundant.

A resigned Marion lets say 4/65 as a Buck will suffice.
The real franchise player(s) for Bucks are Bogut and Yi... as hard as that is to swallow.
Redd is a second fiddle at best, Mo Williams will explode along with Bogut and Yi.. factor in Marion there..
Redd and Mo is hogging too many shots together.
