it was a broken play that ended up with him having to take the shot as time run out. i dont think the play was designed for him to take it.

This is a game where we would've definitely lost if Book had played like he has over the past couple of games. KD didn't really show up, neither did the bench and so that 52 really helped build a good buffer.

Somebody said this is the team version of Deandre Ayton and I think it's the perfect take.

I remember that post and I replied by saying " Sh*t! you are right" and I'll say it again Sh*t! you are right

4-game homestand coming up. Cavs, Wolves, Pelicans and Clippers. Then we close out the season against Clippers (back-to-back), Kings, and Wolves.

FYI... I think the Suns will have the tie-breaker over the Pelicans since we have beaten them twice this season, just in case the Suns end up having the same record end of the season. Here is the remainder of the Pelicans games though:
Magic, Spurs, Suns, Blazers, Kings, Warriors, Lakers.

Kings:
Clippers, Knicks, Celtics, Nets, Thunder, Pelicans, Suns, Blazers
Mavs:
Warriors, Hawks, Warriors, Rockets, Hornets, Heat, Pistons, Thunder
Lakers:
Raptors, Wizards, Cavs, Wolves, Warriors, Grizzlies, Pelicans
Warriors:
Mavs, Rockets, Mavs, Jazz, Lakers, Blazers, Pelicans, Jazz

Didn't think Billups would design a play for him, but you never know. I didn't watch a replay, I was viewing the play by play and all it said was DA took a 13 foot jumper and missed.

What league is he even in now?

Jk... I know who you are talking about.

I think KD fall back because Book was hot but Beal :banghead: it's like this man doesn't remember how to play basketball. I know he hit 2 big shots nearing the end of the game but again he's been trash

Before our next game against the Pelicans, they play at home against the Magic and the Spurs.

I can see the Magic winning them.

Booker did great without him we likely lose this guy. But I believe KD struggled shooting mainly because Booker was hot forcing KD out of rhythm throughout the game.

I feel like Beal has been trying to embrace a new role where he is more of the ballhandler and is looking to distribute more. It's a bit comical because we could have just kept CP3 if that is the role Beal is trying to take. He looks good when he actually attacks the basket and tries to be aggressive.
The last 7 games Beal is averaging under 10 FGA's, but he is averaging 7 assists with 10 points.

Pelicans (45-30):
Magic (W), Spurs (W), Suns (L), Blazers (W), Kings (L), Warriors (L), Lakers (L)
Pred Finish: 47-32
Kings (43-31):
Clippers (W), Knicks (L), Celtics (L), Nets (W), Thunder (L), Pelicans (W), Suns (L), Blazers (W)
Pred Finish: 47-35
Mavs (45-29):
Warriors (W), Hawks (W), Warriors (L), Rockets (W), Hornets (W), Heat (W), Pistons (W), Thunder (L)
Pred Finish: 51-31
Lakers (42-33):
Raptors (W), Wizards (W), Cavs (W), Wolves (L), Warriors (W), Grizzlies (W), Pelicans (W)
Pred Finish: 47-35
Warriors (40-34):
Mavs (L), Rockets (W), Mavs (W), Jazz (W), Lakers (L), Blazers (W), Pelicans (L) , Jazz (W)
Pred Finish: 45-37

Suns (44-31):
Cavs (W), Timberwolves (W), Pelicans (W), CLippers (L), Clippers (W), Kings (W), Wolves (L)

I think to finish 5th is outof reach, That's Dallas place. Magic win number is 49 with must wins against Kings and Pelicans.
So Suns need to win 3 out 5 against Wolves 2x, Clippers 2x and Cavs.

Very hard task. Anything from 6th to 9th is possible. Sleeper pick are Lakers with an easy schedule

I think he played a very good all-around game.

He did a nice job on defense and ended with 13 points, 9 boards and 6 assists shooting 5-8 from the floor.

Big win. Massive game from Booker, he always shows up against the Pelicans. The dream of avoiding the play-ins is still alive if we can close out the season strong.

Beal's a square peg in a round hole he right now. He's playing fine, but nowhere near living up to expectations or the money spent.

If he turns it around in the playoffs, all is forgiven. Health and system familiarity (although it's looking like what system?) is more important than putting up 25+ points.

I think we snag the 6th seed and get the Timberwolves, but it's not going to matter much if we're not defending worth a damn.

This is on Book. His aggressiveness has been down as of late. Today, he went back to his old ways of attacking early every possession. Good things always happen when he’s aggressive to score. He’s really been hurting the Suns when he looks to Beal and KD to score. I think Book is the best player on the team, he should lead this team every game. He’s in his peak, take charge!

Beal played his role which is being the distributor. He played well defensively, often matched up against Zion (again) and in my books, he's doing exactly what he's been asked to do. Like if he was asked to score more then he could and would but his scoring role has clearly been reduced as evidenced by his FGA over the last 10 games or so.

But KD has rarely been asked to be the playmaker, especially since our guys have been healthy. We expect KD to hit big shots, carry a significant chunk of the scoring load and just be Book's partner. But in this game, I don't think he's been good. 7 of 19 from the field, only getting to the line 3 times, I counted more than the 3 TO's that was recorded, and overall, just seemed like a non-factor out there.

Book was due to break his 3PT record for a long time. Finally a big game from him and nice win for the Suns.

i just do not understand why our offense is so bad in the 4th quarter. This is the quarter I expected us to dominate with the Big 3 along with Gordon coming in to make a bunch of threes. Thus far Gordon has mostly been MIA.

Nice win but still a lot of issues. Why Why Why is Young glued to the bench. He was fantastic when given minutes. I guess passing, rebounding and defense is not a good thing.
