Shooting 3's, attacking close outs, that's basically Jae's entire offensive bag. Sure the 3pt needs to be more consistent but I see no reason why he couldn't be a Crowder-lite, especially with his defense

Still don't quite understand the difference between the old 2nd round pick deal and the new one

You used to have to use cap space or salary exceptions (MLE, TPMLE, minimum, etc.). Now 2nd rounders go into their own little bucket like 1st rounders do so you dont have to dip into other ones.

I see...
Do you think this increases the value of 2nd round talent (not for trade purposes) now that there's this new exception?

Marginally, sure. 2nd round picks are still more than likely going to amount to nothing, but at least now the ones that do hit dont take away little bits of money from other places that you use for other things.

Does sound like with this new exception, it gives teams more of a free kick in that it doesn't impact their salary cap if they wanted to sign like 2-3 second rounders

Read on Reddit an assistant coach is impressed with Camara and expects big things. Let's see how he performs in SL.

So if I am reading the SI article correctly the Suns could decline the team option on the 4th year then He would become a RFA and the Suns could match whatever offer sheet another team gives him?

If he keeps this up he could be an OK 3rd string PF pretty much right away (around allstar break when he learns the ropes).

Agreed. Both Camara and Goodwin look like capable 3rd stringers at worst.

Always nice when your players do well in SL. When was the last time we saw that? 2013 when we made the finals? The Morris Twins and PJ Tucker lead one was a lot of fun and helped kind of lay a jumping point for our season. The Twins played 24 and 22 mpg, and PJ got 30 mpg in the following 2013-14 regular season.

Re: Welcome Toumani Camara
Clearly better than the other G-leaguers out there. Let's hope he turns into one of those special second rounders that we never seem to get. Suns are due, haven't kept a real decent one since Ceballos, Dumas, and Hornacek (90,91,86).
