May be this will squelch some of the trade chatter… we have a potent 1-5… and with Gordon, Okogie, Metu, and the big Bukie, a decent bench. And if BolBol emerges, oddly we have become a fairly big team. I thought for sure we were going to get bodied up and pushed around this game

Just keep running and pushing the ball. Pacer game could be very entertaining.

Note… so there was a Wishbia siting. Wonder if he is with them on this road trip?

Nice win, however Pelicans are a good matchup for us.

Our weakness is against athletic 7 footers and shifty 3 level scorers. We got no answers for either of those player types.

It took Vogel half of the regular season to realise that playing with pace brings these type of result

It's against his ethos to play this way, he's a defense first coach that's always had big hulking teams that rebounded everything and took care of the ball.

Credit to him to finally adapting, but he probably wasn't the right hire for us with this roster we've given him. Vogel alone can't make a good defense.

This could have been our best game of the season from start to finish. We finally played with pace and looked dominant and in full control. One things for certain our 2nd stringers are 3rd stringers with any of other top 15 teams in the league.

Four of our reserves who played most minutes scored 13p, exactly the same as DEN and BOS benches in their game and we usually can expect more out of EG and Metu. It's not that bad, but they need to try to consolidate two of those min contracts that are DNPs lately + 2nd pick for another useful bench player.

To be fair, it took half a season for Beal to be healthy. That probably had a bigger impact than coaching/team suddenly deciding to play with pace. Point Beal allowed Book to play off ball more.

Yeah, Beal playing most of the time at PG makes this team much better and we are a tough matchup for any team.

Pelicans size wasn't a problem at all, with a healthy roster they couldn't handle us.

See what happens when you shoot 3s, take it to the hole and play with energy, focus, intensity?
Carry on

Edit:
As per NBA shotchart: Booker had 17 of his FG attempts at or within 12 feet - which is within the paint, or very close to it on the sides. He made 11. He also had 11 three point attempts.
Beal only shot 4 threes, but 7 out of his other 8 shots were within 10 feet, so made 5 out of 8 two pointers for a cool 62,5% 2pt fg%.
KD had his usual diet of "middys" - but he had 8 three point attempts, and he made 2 out of 3 of his shots within 10 feet. He made 6 out of 8 of his mid range shots.

But all in all - it was the speed, power, energy, focus and intensity again. Even the zebras couldnt slow us down, and god knows they tried. I know you can not keep this up for every game until the rest of the season, but if we could play 8 times out of 10 with this intensity I think we would win about 7-8 times out of 10 for the rest of the year (unless injuries strike). We could have HC in the first round...

Big 3: 6-4
Book/KD: 9-6
Book/Beal: 3-1
Beal/KD: 1-2
KD: 2-4
Book: 2-1
Beal: 0-0

Total: 23-18
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

So with at least 2 of our big 3 our record would be 19-9, if I want to look at it that way. We had (have, and will have) some "growing pain" with the big 3 together, hence the 6-4, othewise that is more like a 7-3 I think... Is this as bad team now as like some make it out to be?
I don't think so. As I ve said many times (and will repeat now), we just had very bad injury luck, and we haven't really had one guy out of a possible seven (!!!) who stepped up and made a meaningful contribution from the bench.

Yep I was thinking about that going into the game.Valanciunas & Ingram used to give the Suns fits.KD & Nurk changed that in a major way.Now I feel like the Pels are the ideal matchup for the Suns.
