Nashty & Cactus Game 1: Suns vs Warriors

Post#1 » by lilfishi22 » Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:16 am

For those that have been around, you'll already know what the Nashty and Cactus is. It's essentially a post-game "award" thread where you call out the players who did well (Nashty) and the players who played bad (Cactus).

You can select up to 3 players for each Nashty and Cactus for a total of 6 points each, how you want to distribute those points is up to you. Below is what I have for this game as an example

Nashty:
+3 Okogie
+2 Book
+1 Nurk

Cactus:
-3 Grayson
-2 Gordon
-1 KD

You can distribute the points like this as well

+4 Okogie
+1 Book
+1 Nurk
or
+2 Okogie
+2 Book
+2 Nurk

I'll see if I can set up a google sheet to keep tally and make it public

Edit: No cactus moving forward, only Nashty! Also feel free to add your justification for the points given!

Tough to pick for a Cactus since we did win, but I'll pick some Nashtys
+3 Booker
+2 Okogie
+1 Nurkic

Okogie played brilliantly in that 2nd half, but Booker made some clutch passes and ultimately was the main reason for the win.

I don't remember but did we do Cactus for wins?

I understand why Nashty is pro, but why was Cactus chosen as con?

I don't think so.

At the end we did only Nashty because Cactus put so much negativity around.

Fair enough. I'll keep it Nashty only moving forward

Shaq "The Big Cactus" was his self-imposed nickname when he played for the Phoenix Suns

We did only Nashty for wins...and both for losses.

I also am pretty sure the max you could give was 3, but you could do the others differently like 1-1-1 or something. Scores get too skewed if someone can just go 6-0 for their favorite player every time.

I was actually thinking about it last night too and thinking I'd give Okogie 3 and Book 2 (great but turnovers hurt)...didn't think of 1 but Nurkic definitely makes sense for that.

But then you could have 3-3-3 giving out 9 points?

I'm going to keep it to Nashty only. My time is limited and counting Cactus as well will double the work.

No, you get six total points. The max you can give is 3. So you could go 3-2-1, 3-1-1-1, 2-2-1-1, 2.5, 1.5-1-1, 2-1-1-1-1-1, etc.

Here are the rules...from batsmasher...read first part behind spoiler and then red update (especially the last sentence there).....probably don't need to read past that unless you want to get confused.

Feel free to share it if you make it a Google document and perhaps I could help a bit too if I have any spare time.

It's funny and depressing looking at our roster from one of the final results ceremonies...

I was looking to see if there was a link to the google doc used.
