Suns also got Roddy in a trade alongside Royce. Does anyone know anything about him? Will he be able to play 5-10 mpg and maybe quite a few min in the playoffs?

I know he's a meme player known for his rotund physique, at the very least he gives us another big body to dish out some hard fouls out come playoffs.

That’s good I guess.. we need some enforcers on this team and we just received two in a trade while getting rid of players who are bad fit for us.

He's probably not going to play in the playoffs, but he's young (22 years old), controllable for 2 more years, cheap and has upside. He'll be fun to watch in garbage time and preseason next year. In the meanwhile he can take Yuta's role of keeping the bench warm and the Gatorade cold for the Big 3.

I can't really understand why a young team like the Grizzlies give up on a guy who is playing solid ball at the start of his career.

23# pick from last year and he is only 22 years old.

He's a solid versatile Ish with guard skills type player. But he does look kinda like Robin Lopezs' little brother.

He is weak. That is the answer.

Yeah lol

It's insane... he is around 6'5 and he weights 260 lbs. And a 6' 11.5 wingspan.

With that body he presumably can be an option defensively for big wings like Paul George, Anthony Edwards, LeBron...

Meh he just seems like a younger version of Ish Wainright.

Almost same height, weight and background and played football like Ish.

Yeah, but he is 7 years younger so he can develop in a better player.

Another advantage is that we control his next few years because of his rookie contract.

I'm still a touch confused by this part of the Oneale trade. Both why Memphis and Phoenix did it? Not that it's a bad deal for either side just kind of strange and I'm not sure if I see a clear motivation from either side.

On Memphis's side I think they just don't think he's a good player. This year is a lost cause for them and they still shipped him out. Best to have no expectations for a player like that.

Oh I don't have any expectations. I wondered if it was a salary dump by Memphis but then I'm a little confused why Phoenix got involved? I guess maybe the Nets were unwilling to take Yutas player option for next year so this was a way to route him to Memphis?

It's not a big deal, was just a little confusing and I did some googling and never really saw any explanation.

The NFL is pretty grueling so I'm guessing he just isn't up for it?

Unless you're a star in the NFL you don't get paid as well and in basketball you're not usually subjecting yourself to concussions and body contact like in football so it's a lot easier on the body.

I wonder if we actually wanted Roddy, or just part of cost to acquire oneale. When do we decide on team option for next year?

Pretty sure Memphis already picked it up in October
