Wow almost as many Lakers fans as Suns fans at US Airways?

Post#1 » by MaryvalesFinest » Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:36 am

After watching the game I knew there were probally going to be *some* Laker fans but I didn't expect half the arena to be Laker fans...It was kind of embarassing have that game on national TV showing almost as many Lakers fans as Suns fans, plus the cheers and chants of "Go Lakers"...

I don't get why anyone who is in Phoenix would want to be a Lakers fan (Unless you're from LA of course) but why not support the Suns? It's not like the Suns are a lottery team the Suns are one of the best teams in the NBA reguardless.

Anyway just after seeing that was kind of dissapointing...Hopefully if the Suns can win the chip or at least come close that will change.

I totally agree. It bordered on being obscene. That is another reason why I despise the Lakers. All the bandwagon jumpers.

lets go blame the lakers fans?? why cant they go to their own home games??

im willing to bet more than a few of them chose to come to the game in phoenix because they couldnt afford going to the lakers home games...

Lol I wasn't blaming Laker fans I was just saying that kind of a thing happens to a lottery team not a playoff team, where fans root for the other team...

Shocking to hear go lakers

Kobe chants... they are fans of the players but a division rival is just shocking. After the play-off series???
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

The game itself was depressing. To see that moron courtside jump and cheer at every lakers basket was borderline suicide-inducing.

lol it's like that with all AZ sports...a bunch of transplants from LA show up at the games, and then actual Phoenicians don't bother too. It's embarrassing.

Ya I doubt those fans are from LA.
Like most of you guys said, they are all bandwagon jumpers.
Its seems like that at most arenas here in Cali, specially at Kings and Warriors games .
Half the Arena is Laker fans.

Where there is Mexicans, there are Lakers fans. Sorry, but true. All the cholo's root for the Lakers, Cowboys, and Raiderrrrrs.

Also, there is no way it was 50/50, that's beyond ridiculous to believe. The game was already out of reach when the "Lets Go Lakers" chants started. Of course Suns fans are going to be down, and clearing out the arena while Lakers fans are staying for the whole thing and happy.

Simple logic. I know for a fact I didn't hear any chants during the middle of the game when the game was within reach. It was probably 80/20 Suns/Lakers, it's just when you're a fan of the opposing team and you're going to a road game, you're going to be louder than the average Suns fan who can see the Suns anytime they want as opposed to the Lakers fan who can only see them twice a year.

Well from the view inside arena the crowd looked mixed so I don't think i'd single them out...
