Sucks to say but from what I heard they are saying that Amare is as good as gone, which really sucks. I just hope we can get a PF and C that can actually play solid minutes with solid contribution, and a backup PG for Nash. Hopefully someone who can even split 24 minutes a game with Nash.

I like Scola... he's the type of energy big I have always thought would look good on the Suns.

But I hate Verajo & Noah... Scola is managable in my opinion.

Scola and Artest... hmmm. That's not bad. Artest can stretch the floor on offense and is definately an improvement on defense. Scola and Amundson is a very intersting 2nd teir front-court combo.

Hill, Shaq and Nash seem like they could keep Artest and his ego in check. Lord knows Nash has had to stroke his fair share of egos lately...

CBS says:

The Portland Trail Blazers have made a strong play for Amare Stoudemire, discussing a package that includes LaMarcus Aldridge, Jerryd Bayless, and Raef LeFrentz's $12.7 million expiring contract, a person with direct knowledge of the talks told CBSSports.com Tuesday.

if we want hinrich a bulls trade could be hinrich, thomas, gooden, and picks for amare barbs. losing barbs isnt too bad as he wouldnt really play with hinrich at backup pg. also could give tuck a few mins at backup sg regularly

I'd do a deal with Chicago. Thomas and Noah are finally hitting there PRO stride. If the rumors of the Suns wanting Hinrich are true, I wouldn't doubt that. Here's two deals I'd do with Chicago:

Amare/Tucker or Lopez for Hinrich, Thomas, Noah and a 1st rd pick
or
Amare/Barbosa/Tucker or Lopez for Hinrich, Thomas, Noah, Gooden, Sefalosha, and a 2nd rd pick

Either way we get young talent at the PF and Center position along with a LEGIT PG to spell and eventually take over for Nash..

Nash/Hinrich
J Rich/Hinrich/Sefalosha
Hill/Sefalosha/Barnes
Thomas/Gooden/Dudley
Shaq/Noah/Lou

As a Bulls fan, I would probably do Hinrich, Thomas, Gooden, and 2009 first rounder for Amare and Barbs.

Hinrich can be a good replacement for Nash. His contract is actually really friendly since most of the money was paid up front by the Bulls organization.

Yeah Kerr better jump on that ASAP if reports are true. That is a great deal. If reports aren't true Kerr might wanna jump on the Bulls deal. Thomas is playing extremely well lately

Yeah but does the Blazer deal shave enough salary this year?

That's right, I remember now. I can see Sarver jumping up and down with this deal.

Um, if that's true about Portland, that should take someone a second to decide.

But if we can't get Portland involved, or a deal with Memphis (or GS or Miami) talked about in the other thread, I really hope they just wait until the summer. Chicago and Detroit deals are horrible.

If we are considering Houston then I hope its Artest, Scola, and either Brooks or Alston, sorry if you guys hate Alston after that crap earlier this season, but the dude can be a solid contributor and backup/replacement for Nash. Artest can guard the 2,3, and 4 spots and Scola can play the 4,5 spots. I don't like Artest's tarnished attitude (if people haven't paid much attention to Houston's play this season, refs give him flagrants and T's for no reason and it sucks for him, but he brought it on himself). Brooks and Alston can definitely play 24+ minutes a game and give us solid points+assists.

Kerr and Sarver want to shed salaries to cut costs but they have to remember one thing, stars sell tickets.
The average casual NBA fan actually isn't all that knowledgeable about NBA players except for All Stars mainly.

It's unreal how many rumours are out there, I bet half of them are fabricated by journalists using the same tools we use on ESPN and with trade checker

Take Noah out of the CHI deal and throw in Gooden.

Stoudemire + Barbosa for Gooden + Hinrich + Thomas + Sefolosha

Only problem is that doesn't shed salary this year.

Stoudemire + Tucker for Adridge + Bayless + LaFrentz

That includes the insured contract we are oh-so-familiar with by now. Hell, maybe Dragic could be included to quench their love of foreign players and in order to get more off our cap.

The prospect of actually getting some talent for Amare is getting me pumped! :)
