Suns are fine with their roster until the 2010 season at least. Amare, Nash, Shaq, Hill, have been playing stellar. This year and next will be our last flames at success, then we can rebuild if it's not working.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

Who do you think we need to worry about? I can see us ahead of Utah, Houston and Dallas with a little luck

Is this possible? yes, realistic? not with this team. I wish I was wrong and that at the end of this season you can rub it in. But I think that the more the Suns delay the rebuilding, the more we are going to be hurting ourselves. It's time to rebuild!

--- Oh, I don't think it's probable, just that the sked is very soft from here to the end and the teams ahead of us all have injury issues (Houston, Utah, Dallas) to core players. NO is underperforming.
If this team plays anywhere near it's potential we can certainly get a decent seed.

You can mark this down.......... Amare will explode during the second half of the season, as will the rest of the suns. Once they get back to playing the way they used to they will feel better about themselves and and as a team will come together and play to there potential. Yup that's right I said it and I mean it. And before any of you say it, I will gladly eat my words if it does not happen.......

Is Shaq coming in off the bench an option? I never thought he should be a starter on the Suns.

People wanted a big to play alongside Amare, but Shaq actually makes things harder for Amare at times. Amare just needs a big like Sheed to play alongside, someone who will do his dirty work defensively and on the boards, but doesn't clog the paint. Shaq and Amare don't compliment each other.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

I feel for TP, really I do because I think most of the blame lies with Kerr. I tihnk this team has a chance to win more games then they would have if they would have made a trade or kept TP. they have the talent to be a top 4 team int he WC, but we wil see if they can get it done.

If you think Shaq coming off the bench is a good idea you probably aren't watching basketball.

to be honest i thought the same idea was worth watching

frees up amare and clears the lane for the starters with nash amare pick and roll taking the load and then to hide our lack of a backup PG, we run the bench offense through shaq in the post....

So if we have Shaq off the bench then our starting unit would look like:

Nash
JRich
Hill
Lou
Amare

or

Nash
JRich
Hill
STAT
Fropez

I like the idea of having a slowed down game when Nash and/or Amare resting while we run our game through Shaq. But we are giving up a lot of defense and offense with those starting lineups. Those lineups will be acceptable ONLY if Amare decides to give a damn about rebounds and playing what little defense he knows.

But I don't see why Shaq needs to come off the bench. I assume Gentry will bring in a SSOL-type of offense to the Suns and he'll likely try and emulate what D'Antoni did with Amare and Shaq.

Shaq would demand to be traded before coming off the bench. You guys cant be serious. At least admit you're talking about of your sphincters when you discuss hilariousness like this.

Agreed. Shaq has to start, if only because he deserves it for showing his skills are still there..

Think about it...you'd rather Lou start at PF and have Shaq off the bench

Yeah, me either. If Porter was a good coach he wouldn't have been fired. He was the wrong man for the job. He sucks as a HC.

I like the comment to Vecsey's story that claims our mascot is a racist symbol.

What a frigging self righteous moron.

manu never started during the championship years

i think shaq going to the bench gives more cohesion to our starters and solidifies our rudderless bench

I feel bad for anybody that loses their job, but Porter is still getting paid so it's not as bad as it usually is. The fact of the matter is Porter needed to be replaced. Now I'm not sure I would be labeling anybody with any derogatory names, as it is we that create these unfortunate situations with our constant craving for knowledge of what in the h$11 is going on with our teams in times like these, it's an unfortunate but necessary evil, and will always be a part of the game..........
