i forgot about this rumor....shaq for deng or j-rich for chandler/dalembert should happen way before we trade Amare and Barbosa for nonsense. Trading Amare right now would be stupid since his value is at its lowest point. Meanwhile, Shaq's value is higher than it's going to be for a long, long time

Trading Amare now is stupid. Every team knows we're on shaky grounds at the moment and one wrong step and we could lose Amare for a 2nd round pick. Pretty much every team is trying to make us out to be their Memphis in the Gasol trade but trading Amare for garbage and expiring.

I say we hold onto Amare for at least half the season (trade deadline) and let the guy gain back some value by playing well and if we decide to part ways then so be it. At least then we'll be able to get back 1:1 value for Amare.

ben has said many times that its not about the money for him

infact if he wanted to take a 2 mil buy out then he becomes the most valuable trade chip in the L - they could trade him for anyone like Jrich, barbs, who knows and then the suns pay him that 2 mil buyout and have massive caprelief in one hit

Let me recap the situation a lil bit. We are, supposedely, pursuing Deng and Rondo? Two players we actually had drafted and then threw away for nothing. Great!

Yes. That exactly.

I dont think so

You gave the 21st pick (acquired in the Deng trade) to NY. It was a bribe for them to accept the QRich trade since QRich was not fully insured due to his back. You drafted Nate Robinson for them.

--------

I still feel the Deng for Shaq swap could happen - but not until at least July 1.

Deng is BYC until then.

Thanks for the update, I'd been misinformed.

Still, I like my version of events better :P

Imagine if Shaq and Miller got into another fight, while being on the same team

This whole Shaq Chicago thing sucks. I had eyes on 3 expirings plus a backup SG and 4.2 mil instant savings to Phx to the Suns for Shaq... and now his value is Deng? Damn. My master plan is toast.

Return to Phoenix Suns
