Amare is a bonafide NBA Superstar. Landry(went to my high school) and everybody else on that list are 3rd and 4th options on a contender at most! KG is old and Duncan will be done in 2-3 years. Amare and Dirk are the best power forwards in basketball by default people. Gasol is soft as wet tissue as is Dirk which leaves STAT as the last remaining real "power" forward in the game until Blake Griffin takes over in the next 4-5 years...

Minus injury STAT would be in a league of his own with Bron and Kobe as his only peers. But we all know that!

We could three-way Harris. I don't think it is a bad trade, Yi just doesn't look good right now and I know, I watch all the Nets game (for a limited time), just because we might trade with them. I think an uninjured active Yi would be nice, but look what he and the better Lopez has done for the Nets?

On the contrary, I would liike Harris here. Send Nash to a contender. I'm a Nash fan and all I'm just ready to end this era and start fresh.

On the contrary. I am hoping Dragic developes better handles and passing ability to become our future starter, because I know one thing I love about him, DEFENSE. Harris has none of that and he is super injury prone, as is Yi.

If we had to lose Amare, and had no choice about that, then i would love to see a guy like Landry, or Speights from Phi. If at the same time they could get a Rudy Gay here, i think we could move fwd. not backwards. Only mentioning Gay because I thought his contract coming up and they are thinking of not paying him, if not send him here please. Would rather have a duo like Gay, Speights/Landry, then Amare/J. Rich.

Top 3 protected is a realistic thing to ask for isn't it? Incase they don't win John Wall, WE can get Evan Turner or Xavier Henry! Plus Yi and Courtney Lee. Hopefully this is a one year slump for him. Then the Nets can just agree in principle to a deal and just not sign it until they got a couple other people to come. They'd have his bird rights so after hitting the cap, they could sign him and more or less extend their cap when it comes signing free agents

Beasley+Chalmers would be okay.
Randolph+Curry would be okay.

Melo???

Any ways... Why is everyone making such a big deal about height? I agree that Beasley isn't a power forward, but that is more because of playing style not height. Landry, however, is a power forward because of playing style. I'm pretty sure once upon a time a guy by the name of Charles Barkley played power forward at 6'6 and is considered one of the top 50 players in NBA history. Karl Malone was 6'9 which is the same size as Landry, and I'm pretty sure he was a good player. Correct me if I'm wrong though. Just to clarify I don't think any of these guys are going to be anywhere near the level of those two, just saying that height isn't the deciding factor of being a good power forward.

Another thing is just because we had a team built around Amare, doesn't mean the new direction has to be around a power forward, so getting a pretty good 4, like Landry and Green, would be beneficial in rebuilding.
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

3 way??? N.J. gets Amare.....Phi gets Harris/Yi/Boone/ Phx second rd pick (maby X2) or the other Griffin.....Phx gets Iggy/Speights 1st pick from N.J. Or something like that. I would take Iggy and Speights.

I would take that as well. Start Speights at power forward.

New Jersey get's Amare's bird rights for nothing, while not cutting into their spending money
Phi gets the cap relief they want so bad
We get heavy upgrades in the defense and rebounding while not giving up too much offense, while getting young talent that has a high ceiling. Only problem is Iggy's contract. I wouldn't mind picking it up at all, but our front office would

He could basically be a Marion for us. He is long Quick and an athletic freak. We need one of those at the sf. spot to guard the likes of the Durants and Gays of the league. Its what we are lacking. Grant is looking old lately. I would take the contract, and then next year J Rich is a tradeable expiring or just let him fall off, and we are in a good posostion to build even further.

Well, the advantage to my scenario is that if they do get in the top 3...we just wouldn't trade with them. Top 3 protection has a huge chance of getting us nothing this year if Nets win the lottery.

Problem is, Clark doesn't have anywhere near the level of talent or promise to be an All-Star caliber player like Marion was, or Durant and Gay and we know he doesn't have the dedication, or work ethic to get there.

You guys are honestly out of your minds if you think Clark will wind up being like one of those players.

But why not have two guys like that? Imagine having Iggy at the 2 and Clark at the 3 being Marion-like(if/when Clark develops). I'd like to see that.

I think Speights has good potential for us, but I might rather clear cap and take our chances for Wade and Co before committing to Igoudala. I absolutely love his skillset, but his contract does worry me with regards to future flexibility and out ability to build a team around his contract. If we could unload Richardson for CAP, and Barbosa too (I love the guy, but he needs a shot to start, and we could use the cap space) I wouldn't mind too bad if we ended up with Nash, Wade, Iggy, Speights and Lopez next year. Lopez is coming on strong, and it has been fun to watch. With the pick we'd get from NJ or PHI in that scenario for for another backup 2-guard or athletic center.

Nash/ Dragic
Wade/ DRAFT
Iggy/ Hill/ Dudley
Speights/ Amundson/ Clark
Lopez/ Frye/ DRAFT
