Just to clear things up, the GSW pick from NJ is actually a pretty good pick, it's just not available till 2012, which isn't great.
It is top 7 protected in 2012, top 6 in 2013 and 2014 and if it is still protected that year it turns into their second rounder in 2014 and another 2nd rounder in either 2015 or 2016, I forget which.
It is almost guaranteed to be a 1st rounder and a good chance at lotto.

On a side note, how would Suns fans feel about a Amar'e for Okafor/filler swap?

Lopez is our Center of the Future so Okafor wouldn't make much sense. Our best deal would be T-Will, Simmons, Yi + 2011 1st Round Pick for Amare. Although NJ would make the playoffs next year we'd still have two 1st Round Picks and could trade up to top 5.

Another deal I had thought of a while back was David West/NOH 1st rounder/filler for Amar'e.
Don't know if that helps, but you stay competitive, pick up a pick and stay reasonably young.

No CDR in this reported deal? TWill?

Ricky Rubio
Ramon Sessions
Ryan Gomes or Damien Wilkins
Brian Cardinal
Sasha Pavlovic

This would give the Suns a true back up PG in Sessions and your future PG in Rubio plus you would get alot of cap space with Wilkins,Cardianl and Pavlovie coming off the books.Or if you want Gomes instead a solid back up SF or a starter once Hill retires.

I'd take it

Rubio is not coming for a couple years, Dragic can play the 2 very nicely

gives us a nice rotation with Barbs back

Gomes or Wilkins would be nice, too

JESUS CHRIST

I ran it thorugh Trade machine and Manu/Dice/Blair and Splitter works

be nice for Dragic to play with Ginobili for a year and learn some things - Nash and MG would be about the best the kid could have as mentors. Don't know how much Dic has left but he's still a stud from what I've seen.

But Sean on Dallas and Stat in SA is hard to think about ....

About 6 mil in expirings and I like Young a lot, like Butler too... Jamison I don't like his contract but don't see him as any worse than Jrich. The first I see as enticing.

Probably a definite no from Washington though.

2011 Outstanding Trades

New Jersey receives 2011 Golden State first round pick (lottery protected in 2011, top 11 protected in 2012, top 10 protected in 2013. *If it is not conveyed by 2013, the Nets get second-round picks in 2013 and 2015). (Marcus Williams trade 072208).

Looks to me like it is almost certainly just 2 2nd rounders, pass.

OFC we won't. To make one thing clear, we won't take on any contract that runs longer than 2011. Right now we won't have anyone under contract for 2011-2012.

I think Nash has a team buyout or sth even in his contract for that year. Barbosa has a player option and all the other guys have team options.

So we won't have any salary commitments before the new CBA strikes.

According to realgm's draft pick owed section, it has what the person before said

http://www.realgm.com/src_future_draftpicks.php
2012 first round draft pick from Golden State
Golden State's own 2012 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 7 protected in the 2012 Draft, top 7 protected in 2013, and top 6 protected in the 2014 Draft). However, if New Jersey has not yet received this first round pick by the 2014 draft, then New Jersey shall instead receive: (i) Golden State's own 2014 2nd round pick and (ii) Golden State's own 2016 2nd round pick. [Golden State - New Jersey, 7/22/2008 and amended 9/21/2009]

I don't know how they could allow it to be negotiated to where it turns into 2nd rders. Awful.

According to a source, the Sixers have an interest in the Phoenix Suns' center.

"(The Sixers and Suns have had) talks, but nothing is hot," said an NBA source. "They are shopping him throughout the league."

That is wrong. RealGm's is right. It was changed this offseason. Specualtion was because they wanted to include their pick in a recent trade that never happened.
