I love how in this trade both team's expected win total goes down.

Also, lol @ Taylor Griffin's -2.0 PER

Anything we get from Philly is > than NJ IMO. Even if we fail miserably and don't get Iggy or Speights, at least they'll give us Lou Williams and Thad Young or something.

You dont want a contract like Iggy or Williams when the current CBA only lasts one more year.

My POR/PHO Deal

Post#944 » by Ipster » Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:04 pm

What do you guys think about this deal? I posteed this in the Blazers forum and their reaction was mixed. Seemed like some people would rather deal LA and keep Bayless. But I'll keep it the way it is for right now.

Amare
to POR

Pryzbilla
Bayless
Rudy
T.O.
Petteri Koponen
to PHO

Trade ID #5409792

Now I can the problems with this deal from Portland's standpoint. Amare is a defensive liability, we'd have essentially three young bigs in L.A., Oden, and Amare. We'd lose a lot of depth in the backcourt.

Assuming Oden stays healthy next year he could help out a lot with what Amare lacks defensively. Then we'd have two very solid big men and also an insurance policy in Amare if Oden can't stay healthy all year. L.A. can come off the bench ala Lamar Odom and gives a nice "change of pace" 4 or 5 if the Blazers wants to play small.

I have a feeling Rudy and Bayless both want to see an increase in minutes next year and with so much depth on this team that may not be possible. Phoenix will look to rebuild and they get two nice and young pieces with Bayless and Rudy. Nash can mentor Bayless for a year and with Amare gone, he's pretty much gone by the end of 2010 if not sooner.

Pryzbilla will be a stop gap at C for one year (next year) and will play with Frye and Lopez up front. T.O. who's contract will be off the books after the year and Pho will get another young euro project who from what I've been hearing as been making great strides this year and will be brought over in the next year or two.

For Phoenix it will be...

Nash/Bayless
J-Rich/Rudy/Barbosa
G-Hill/T.O./ Dudley
Lopez/Frye
Pryzbilla/Frye

Thoughts?

I'd do this in a hearbeat, though this should probably go in the Amare trade thread.

I rather have LA so any deal out of PDX has to be centered around him.

How bout this trade: Amare, J-Rich to Wiz for Caron, Mike Miller and Haywood. I love this trade for us and it makes sense for Wiz (I think). Feedback welcome from Wiz and Suns fans.

As opposed to the stroke of brilliance that brings two overrated, bad contract in Deng, and trouble in Thomas here.

If the Suns were contending maybe but even if all those guys were added to the team I still don't see them guranteed a playoff a spot.

uccessful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Phoenix and Washington being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Phoenix and Washington had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I think you'd leave Butler out of any trade with the Wizards and just go with:

Stoudemire + Richardson + Griffin

for

Jamison + Miller + Stevenson + Oberto + WAS 1st

Thing is we still are in the playoff picture and those guys could really add a lot. Haywood would really improve rebounding and post defense.
