I was just joking that it's not worthy of a thread!

Looking forward to seeing Francis Ngannou fight tonight!

My buddy Gerald Meerschaert won his first UFC fight today. Happy for him, he was over due to get a shot

The Black Beauty is one of them. So much heart, power, athleticism, and instinct. Only question is who's next because I'm scared for the rest of the division on their behalves.

I was really impressed with him when he fought for the RFA title, faced a better guy than he probably faced yesterday, and dusted him off like it was nothing.

But he showed more of the arsenal in his UFC debut. Beautiful switch along the fence to avoid the td, counter judo throw, and chain on the choke. Quick transitioning, a step ahead the whole way, and grappling is his background from what I know. The striking development has come later, where he shows good distance controls, tools, straight boxing, and set up for low-middle kicks that have solid pop.

Yeah, I think he's going to stick, and at least make the rankings at some point. His best class may be 170 however. We'll see, but that should be an option if there are bumps in the road.

Derrick Brunson is the crummy 185 white guy slayer. He's beat Chris Leben, Sam Alvey, Ed Herman and now Daniel Kelly.

Kelly looks like he shouldn't be fighting.

Honestly happy that is how this fight ended. No need to see Black Beast lose more brain cells.

That's why I was hesitant to call Lewis one of the good heavyweights. Cardio loss.

"Probably" his last fight. Given the record of people who actually say it's their last fight, that's not a retirement at all.

Hopefully he's just overreacting. He hasn't taken a particularly high amount of damage in his career. He's gotten ko'ed 3 times, but the first two weren't exactly prolonged beatings, and this one while it was compelling wasn't exactly a war and he ended up pretty much just giving up. I think that was due to cardio, leg kicks, and sheer frustration. It wasn't the head blows. Hunt only stunned him once and Lewis was making him miss aplenty. But Hunt was making Lewis miss even more due to not being a big target, as well as his head movement + footwork. Shawn Jordan has beaten him twice in his career. And Mitrione is of course renowned for his footwork. Lewis seems to be a guy who struggles when you're hard to hit and take down, like stocky and frenetic guys. Which makes it odd that he would hand-pick Hunt to fight.

I really think guys like Werdum, JDS, and Overeem would have kept this title run going for Lewis. Poor career management by Black Beast and co. I think he'll be back. But now he needs to work his way back up the ladder and has another stain on him.

I hope Lewis retires and takes the rest of the HW division with him. Good lord that was bad.

Lewis sucks, btw.

With Cain always hurt, Overrem with no chin, and JDS and Werdum too old, is Stipe the only goof heavyweight? Maybe Ngannou, but the best guy he's fought is Arlovski's corpse.
