Conor seems to be in a very healthy space. His confidence is dependent on his opponent IMO and he sees the holes in Cowboy's game and how he's going to win.

Wonder how long he can keep this going for but this should be an easy W for him. Especially when you consider how Cowboy has folded against top flight competition (Diaz, RDA, Pettis, Masvidal, Tony, Gaethje). Would really take for a special breakthrough for Cowboy to come up with a W in this fight, just don't see it.

I don't either, but I definitely rooting for him, or at least against Conor.

If anyone is due for a breakthrough it's Cowboy. But he's probably too far over the hill at this point to hope for a change in these big fights. If Conor is even at 75% of his prime then he should be too much for Cowboy to handle.

I'm guessing Cowboy is just loading up on leg kicks for days. Probably his best bet, then get Conor to the ground or get him thinking too much about his legs and send something high.

Even if it seems like common knowledge, please include the date in the thread title and full card in the post. Thanks.

Will be interesting to see if this captures that "event" feeling that Conor fights used to have (pretty much only matched by Rousey and Lesnar, maybe some huge fights involving non celebrities). I'm not getting that feeling yet. Could be because I'm out of the loop, could be because it's not *really* competitive.

Not super interested in the next two fights.

Gadelha vs. Grosso is probably interesting, and if not, Claudia is still a dime.

I would have figured the guy Pettis is fighting is some kind of prospect, but he's 34 and 20 fights into his career, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Recognize a few names on the prelims, but that's about it. Anyone to watch for?

Their promotion has done them zero favours, it is Thursday evening and I am not hyped at all, which is super surprising considering the long lay off between events.

I don’t need fake beef, but I also can’t stand fake kindness all done for publicity. Both these guys are proven scum bags outside the octagon.

It’s funny how much crap Cowboy gave Ariel, when Ariel was exactly right. No one wanted to see fake, let’s drink beer and whiskey, oh thanks for the opportunity, cowboy.

Why should I feel invested in a fight when it seems like cowboy is just showing up for his big pay day.

This non chalant cowboy stuff is super annoying when it comes to competing, it’s no wonder he never wins his big fights, he never game plans and always wants to appease fans who are quick to forget.

Ironically, that’s why saying you want to keep it standing so you can entertain the fans does the complete opposite in appealing to me, you’re just going out there to lose at this point.

Don’t even bother placing a bet on Cowboy, put your money on the Australian wildfires, this guy lost before it even started.

In fact , this whole card has been filled with fighters who have been pretty underwhelming ...

Claudia fell off a cliff, she had 4 straight bad performances. Randa Markos is legit my fav fighter but Claudia shouldve steamrolled through her as Randa is primarily a grind em out grappler .. that was a tailor made matchup for Claudia

Holly Holm hasn’t been impressive in a long time.

Rocky was never good in the first place, and now she has slowed down even more due to injuries. Is there anyone that’s more boring than her other than her wife Tecia in and outside the octagon? Y’all see this embedded stuff? Even from her TUF tenure... She has no personality. Perfect couple tbh, lol.

Grasso hasn’t had a breakthrough that we’ve expected and continues to fall short, despite displaying some of the best boxing in the division

Anthony Pettis has one of the toughest resumes I’ve seen, but it seems like he’s always looking for a way out of a fight, or when the tide goes against him, he completely shuts down.

And then we got a near 50 year old HW with the prelims headlined by Roxy.

I don’t care that they’re trying to push Maycee, Roxy has no business headlining a prelim card even as a feeder.

Agree with all this. Especially the bolded. This is not a competitive fight unless Cowboy uses his wrestling. The UFC can put a highlight package together of Cowboy moving semi-athletically but watching the man actually move...he's a damn wreck. As a striking match, this is Floyd vs Tenshin.

We can hope Conor is rusty. Though I doubt that'd be enough for Cowboy.
