Bolt was celebrating ten metres and more before the tape, and yet he still produced a World record of 9.69 sec! Should the 22-year-old have the energy and inclination to prolong his phenomenal run of form through the last meetings of the season beginning with the Weltklasse Zürich, there is no guessing at the results we might yet savour.

Today.

He ran 9.83 into a -0.5m/s headind

http://www.iaaf.org/GLE08/news/newsid=47424.html

“Lightning Bolt” electrified us again but there was to be no storming finish in Zürich. While not quite as extravagantly coasting to victory as he did in the Beijing 100m final, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt was smoothness personified as he made up for an appalling start. His 0.193 reaction time to the gun was the slowest of the entire nine man line-up, but he effortlessly cut through the field from about 30 metres out to take a comfortable victory in 9.83 sec (-0.5m/s wind).

Has anyone run such a time in cruise control, without hitting top gear? Bolt brilliance again and we were served up the now customary “Lightning Bolt” posing after the race which sent the crowd wild.

Bolt is running the 200m in Lausanne on Tuesday

http://www.iaaf.org/GP08/news/kind=100/ ... 47434.html

Jamaican Olympic sprint star Usain Bolt, the first man in history to win three Olympic sprint gold medals (100, 200 metres and 4x100 relay) with World records, will run his favourite 200 metres distance on the super-fast Pontaise track which has produced big results in the past two editions - Xavier Carter’s 19.63 meeting record in 2006 and Tyson Gay’s 19.78 in 2007.

Hey TheGlyde, great job on keeping us updated on the athletic events after the olympics.

Usually, after the olympic games, all the hype of Track and other events dies down and you don't have an idea of when the next meet happens. But you're doing a great job.

Now only if there was a way to watch the Bolt race on TV/online.

No worries... :D

Looks like at Lausanne Bolt ran 19.63 into a -0.9 (same wind as he had at the Olympics)... equals the 4th fastest time in history...

200m Result

Strangely though, I think he was overshadowed... The real story for me was Asafa Powell dropping a 9.72 100m with only a 0.2 tail...

A PB for him and equals Bolts previous WR, except Bolt did it with a +1.7 wind... I don't think he is in Bolts league, but damn I wish he didn't always choke in big meets and that at the Olympics he could have ran a time like that to stop Bolt from showboating...
