I like the creativity here (kudos for a dame trade idea without herro!) but it’s gonna be tough to convince any team to take on Lillard/Nurk/Grant… Our little trio makes an average annual salary of $104 Million/year :o :o

So when u say salary filler, we gotta find a LOT of filler lol. Deal would be close to working if Miami included Lowry and Duncan. Not sure how either team would see that deal. I think both would dislike it… which means it may not be a terrible idea. Any deal involving Grant can’t go down till Jan 15, so if the stalemate is still dragging till then, who knows lol

Damn… it really is crazy how much we pay guys to stay here…

Ignoring the fact it can’t happen with Grant officially signed now… there is absolutely no world/reality where the Heat are willing to trade Bam to Portland as part of a Dame trade.

Grant cannot be moved until January. It’s a CBA rule. There is no more sign and trade possibilities.

Even if you were right about the match up, it literally doesn’t matter. Grant is signed. He cannot be Signed and Traded anymore.

I listened to an interesting episode of the True Hoop podcast yesterday...

It was made just after the Jerami Grant signing. Coach Thorpe and the host brought up some Henry Abbott advanced stat that's based on winning possessions on both ends--Thorpe is big on that. It had Grant as a slight overpay based on that rating.

But in Thorpe's opinion, the REAL reason the Blazers signed Grant, is because he's one of the best "people" in the NBA. IIRC, he said something like "...to me it's a toss up between Grant and Marcus Smart, as to who is the most genuine, best 'people' among current players". He went on to say that the Blazers knew they were going to pivot away from LIllard, and for them the extra money was worth it for the steadying, generous, character in the locker room.

Still way too many years, though...

EDIT: Forgot to mention...
Both coach Thorpe and Abbott, who have many long time first-hand connections to FOs believe (in their parlance, "know") that Lillard privately has been asking out of the Blazers for the last two years.
