Brandon Roy would certainly have been deserving of the honor.

But it's hard to argue that Chris Paul wasn't. He had a great month as well, with some truly spectacular games.

It was pretty much a slam-dunk that Nate would win.

kinda annoyed that roy didnt win but its not the end of the world, as if they need more motivation for another streak, it's gettin roy his deserving player of the month award.

Just comparing stats only, I can see why they went with Paul. Roy had him beat in rebounds and that wasn't far off in points, but Paul pulled away by averaging 10 assists and 3 steals.

However, when you compare both players teams records, Roy pulls closer with Paul.

But in the end, it's basically a stat based award and Paul had him beat.

At least Nate got credit.

As much as I was hoping Roy would win, I'm not gonna complain about it. If you look at Paul's stats, they were clearly superior in December. He had some huge games. Also, Roy (stat-wise) dropped off a bit toward the end of the month. I bet Roy would have won it if it had been given at the halfway point of the month.

Anyway, congrats to Nate and the team! Maybe Nate will buy them all dinner now.

Roy is never going to be as good at getting stats as he is at helping his team win. That is of course a good thing for Nate because his job security is contingent upon having players like Roy that play to win.

The hornets have been playing pretty darn good ball and after checking out Paul's line its hard to really fault people for giving him the honor.

You cant get to upset about Roy not winning it. I mean,
really.. .CP is a better player then Roy. Not by a lot but
he is better. Then again Roy is why the Blazers win.. .

of course Roy gets snubbed. i'm sure the NBA was hating that 13 game win streak being portland is west coast and all. the last thing the NBA wants to see is a small market team takin' over!

we all know he deserved to win POM seeing as he had won the damn POW twice. oh well, give it to the NBA's golden child, CP3.

I really don't think you can blame this on Portland being "West Coast." It's just a case of Paul having a better statistical month.

Oh well , unlucky for roy, at least we know his real value to the blazers(MVP), I noticed in the game recap on the NBA site they were wondering why Roy didn't get the player of the month award. So people out there are starting to recognize Roy and the blazers and I've noticed the refs are giving us more respect too. All is good in blazerland.

Paul is perceived as a better player. That doesn't mean he actually is a better player.

In any case, the Blazers are a better team.
